thanks for that post/pm. i wondered what was going on there. i changed my interval settings on my computer to check every 15 minutes instead of every five, and i hope that will fix that issue. i'm accessing yahoo mail via pop and not imap, which allows for mail.app to retrieve my mail. the base yahoo account doesn't let you do that, so i had to upgrade to the mail plus account.

yahoo really just needs to support imap and the problem would be solved. i am really angry they have not enabled push on their small business accounts that are paid, when it's functional for free accounts. it doesn't make sense that they offer imap push for iphone only? if you feel like calling them and complaining about their lack of imap support for desktop computers, call: 800-318-0783
feature-request@yahoo-inc.com

the cs rep said that they usually comply if enough people request a feature. he did not know about the imap. i am sure it is imap, the server for the iphone is imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com. i can't imagine people haven't been requesting this feature for the ages, but i guess now that it is available strictly for iphone yahoo mail users free of charge it is baffling why paid users and full imap are not available. even if it were for an additional fee. the ability to have perfectly synchronized computers across multiple devices is priceless.

what problems?

sure there are features i'd like to see in the future but it's quite solid the way it is ...

there are a few posts with issues / problems but i think they give the false impression that everyone is experiencing all these problems ... which they aren't for the most part. it's a little deceptive.

Thanks for all your replies! This totally reassures my purchase of the iPhone. Now that I think about it, I LOVE my MacBook, but forums only tlked about it's heating issues and not how good it actually is. Is there actually a setting to check for updates? Or is a software update just thought to exist?

iTunes should check for updates automatically when you sync (I believe it's set to to this by default). Nothing yet :)

This device is taking care of all my needs and wants and then some...and then some...and then some.
I keep finding more features that I didn't know/think/care about that now are must-haves.

If they never added any further features, I'd be MORE than happy. It's a pure pleasure to use.

You do know I meant I'm finding features on the phone that I didn't think I'd care about but now can't live without, don't you?
Yep - a pleasure, beautiful and as another poster said "more than I imagined".

Actually, didn't read too much into it. But, now that you bring it up, it's probably TMI.... ;)

lovin it

I absolutely love my iphone... I am amazed at how simple it is yet powerful. I have had no problems with it so far. The only thing I wish it had were buttons on the side to seek through music while surfing the web or multitasking. But all in all best phone I have ever used...period.
