I don't really know much about the Apple Watch, though if you're in this section, you're probably looking for an Android Wear watch anyway. I can't tell you everything about them, but I can tell you what I use mine for and a few other things they can do.
I bought the Huawei Watch because it looks the nicest of any other smart watch in my opinion. I mainly use mine for checking the time, listening to music at the gym, and reading notifications. I rarely respond to notifications on the watch itself, but it helps to see which notifications are worth pulling my phone out of my pocket for.
It's also pretty handy at the gym as I can leave my phone in the car and just take my watch in with me with my Bluetooth headphones. Since my gym has free Wi-Fi, I can connect to that so I still get all of my notifications. If I get a somewhat important text, I can still respond on the watch, but this generally keeps me from getting distracted and constantly using my phone.
I've found some other neat apps that I don't use often but still have a purpose. Look Behind is an app that lets you use your watch as a viewfinder for your phone's camera, useful if you need to see somewhere that your phone can fit but your head cannot. There are simple games that are neat for passing a little time. There's a web browser and an app that lets you watch YouTube videos on your watch, though neither of these is very practical. Shazam is pretty handy for tagging music quickly, especially if your hands are dirty and you don't want to pull out your phone. There's a calculator, a find my phone app that will ring your phone if you forgot where you put it, Google Keep for notes, which is useful for grocery shopping and checking off items you need to buy, stopwatch, Google Translate, weather, and so many other applications.
Going through all of this, I'm realizing there are still so many more things I can be doing with my watch that I don't, so thanks for helping me realize that. Lol
