Best available back cover/case for ipad pro 10.5?

It could be a little bit darker but I'm already happy, it looks wayyyy better with the pencil and my leather bag.

That has come out very nice , very close to the Apple Brown. Shame we don't get leather spray here.

I'm looking into this one for the 12.9. Couple questions if you don't mind:
1. How does the extra width of the case for the pencil holder affect how it feels when you hold the iPad?
2. Does it make the iPad feel appreciably heavier or off balance?

I hope it will still get a bit darker in time, but it was the best I could find.

The material feels nice and all the ports line up perfectly. The camera cutout is a little off center, but it's not a dealbreaker. It pairs well with the Apple smart cover, but you can tell the smart cover was not designed to be used with a back cover. The edge of the smart cover doesn't extend past the back cover so it's hard to open from the side. I either have to slightly push the smart cover over a little with my thumb or open from the lightning port cutout instead. Overall, I am very pleased.

Is the inside of the case hard plastic or soft suede type material? I'm a little torn - on the one hand it aligns perfectly, and I can tell that it's made of very good quality leather. But that color... I thought it was brown like the apple pencil leather case, or the old ipad air 2 smart cover... bit it's more like..orange actually. Quite annoying, especially at this price point. But if you're not into this specific color, I can definitely recommend it.
It works perfectly with the smart keyboard, and they also have full enclosures.

I did find this HARD BACK COVER that has the cutout for the magnetic strip of Smart Keyboard.

From everything I have read, in my opinion, the Khomo companion back cover is the way to go if you have the Smart Keyboard. I ordered mine directly from Khomo since I don't have Prime and Amazon was going to charge me $8 in shipping on a $12 case. Khomo had free shipping, and 15 percent off.
I don't understand it either. Aren't the protruding cameras going to scratch surfaces without a case on the back?
agree, they should have released a case like the ipad air 2 has one. have to buy a back protector to be compatible with the smart cover, i'm looking for a silicone back cover that is compatible with the official smart cover, cannot find a silicone one, only plastic ones
I was disappointed to find that Apple did not make a case/cover as they did with iPad Air 2 so instead I purchased an Apple Smart Cover the day I purchased the 10.5.
I've tried two case backs from Amazon and have decided to keep this one from Khomo. It's priced right and feels good in the hand.

Yes it works well with the smart cover from my experiences thus far. I've only had this one about 2 weeks. It seems to stay at the back as much as any smart cover I've used with previous iPads. My only gripe with it thus far is that when it first arrived, it had an odor to it. Not overpowering, but noticeable. It has however disappeared. For $13 it's hard to complain.
