looks like a retail worker's comment. i worked at best buy, 90% of the people that worked with me never used a mac.

i didn't trust many of the people that worked there in knowing what the heck they were talking about.

Please. They said Vista rivaled OSX...but most Windows users would admit it was cr*p...
They've still got a long way to go...

OMG :mad::confused::(:mad::::confused::eek::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::eek:

Really? I can't imagine anyone around here making a similar comment in the opposite direction.

Windows 7 is right where it should be. It scales incredibly well to take advantage of the resources available. It runs great on a netbook yet will make use of any extra hardware you can throw at it.

There's not a whole lot of difference in any modern OS. Personally I'd rather be well rounded than argue over which one is better. ;)

'... a little jealous' isn't exactly the worst thing to say. Perhaps the commenter just doesn't know much about Macs and assumed that because Windows 7 is being hyped up to be a good match (undoubtably it will live up to this hype) or is just so pleased with Windows 7.

Not what I was expecting when I opened the topic  .

I honestly believe Apple should pull out of BestBuy. The Apple "section" at BestBuy is obviously neglected, with little to no hardware to demonstrate. It simply looks "sad", and that alone sends a negative impression to the buyer (little hardware, not much software, very little applications running on a small plethora of hardware). The "sales associate's" and "Geek Squad" are mainly versed in Windows OS environments (as I work in It as part of my business, years ago I checked out BestBuy as one of my "competitors" and pretended to be a Mac user with system troubles. I asked a few "Geek Squad Agents" questions about Mac - and Windows - they were nothing more than intermediate Windows associates). BestBuy seems more interested in selling their Windows based systems, I wonder if there is more incentive.

Apple should follow their own hardware/software strategy by tightly controlling their sales in Apple stores only. For those who do not live within an Apple store, buy online.

OMG. I am so offended. How dare they attack me personally by commenting like that!

Get over it. Contrary to what alot of people here believe, OSX is not a religion.

Pika I disagree. Here's why, my mom went in to buy a windows desktop machine. The BB guy started telling her that Vista was a whole new way of using a PC etc etc. She said that she was also considering a Mac. He said, "either way you're going to have to learn a new OS, whether it is Mac or Windows, you're going to be fumbling a little for a while."

My mom then asked why she would buy a PC over a Mac now that she knows both OSs are so different from what she has known, he said "I'd buy a Mac."

This was not an Apple rep, the Apple rep was over near the cameras dicking around. My mom started with the 20" Mac and walked out with the best iMac she could get in-store with other goodies in hand.

So, while it appears that the area is neglected could it be that Macs sell themselves and possibly the people on site there aren't little goons who hoard you like you're looking at a used car?

To kilowattradio, whether it was an official memo or a comment from an employee, who cares? You started this thread to get attention because I can't believe anyone is so oblivious to the fact that the memo is the memo and not part of the comments that employees have made. Windows 7 will make some Mac users want to try it out. I am one of those people. I am never jealous of one OS over the other, then again I'm not 12 and I tend not to care what people say about either OS.

That's a harsh barrier. It's great to be able to get a hands on experience with a Mac in Best Buy without having to hop to the nearest Apple Store. The nearest Apple store is 70 miles away mind you and now way I'm going 300 for the next one.

Sorry, is it just me, but I've re-read that three times and can't find where they take a jab at Apple, Mac, iPhone, iPod etc. Am I utterly blind?

I'm getting tired of Mac Fanboys getting all butthurt from Windows fanboys and vice-versa from simple comments.

I hope Windows surpasses Mac OS X in the hope that Mac OS X than has to try and surpass Windows. Competition is good.

just a comment made by an employee. who cares? and since snow leopard will be out sometime soon, and that guy probably has no idea. and even if he does, nobody really knows how good it will be yet.

This isn't disrespect it's humor.

To even think that Mac users would sit around and envy a polished turd like Windows 7 is comical in just about every way.

Of course the PC using Troglodytes are going enjoy Windows 7 when you're at the bottom any movement is going to be up.

"a Vista that works."

Now that is some funny s**t. :D

Given Microsoft's bizarre habit of advertising for their competitor while making themselves look bad, I wouldn't be surprised if MS actually uses this very line to advertise Windows 7. I can see it..."Experience Windows 7...It actually works." :D
