I'm sure there's a reason and I don't mean to be annoying by asking ... but why don't you just order one online?

BB is in store only. No online purchases.

I'd like to order from BB because I'm premier silver. This gives me 45 days to return with no restocking fee. Plus I get points equivalent to a few % off. Plus the purchase goes towards keeping me in silver status.

Otherwise I'd just get from apple.

Sorry if I was being snippy but there always seem to be bashers out there lately complaining about threads.

While we can't post stock for 1k stores, we can get an idea of what's happening across the chain. For instance, I had no idea the website had some stock information now. I had no idea that BB would answer the phone (they never have for me). It's also good to hear how frequently they are coming and in and when they seem to be coming in. All good information so far helping me track one down.

My addition to the info: was told tonight that the units are coming in on regular BB trucks and not via special Fedex or UPS deliveries. This is a change from the Wifi only release when the initial units were coming from Apple directly and not the BB warehouse. Also told that trucks come in the morning (at least at the one store) rather than overnight. Helped me because when I first heard the next truck was Wed I thought overnight Wed and to be there on Thurs. As it turns out its Wed morning so without that information I would be a day late and an iPad short.

Seems like my strategy now is call around at 10am and see who's getting a truck that day and pick up a unit somewhere between 10 and noon.

I ll even show up at best buy before it opens if I know they got one at opening lol.

I will call the one at Potomac Yard again tomorrow morning to get an update. I am thinking about asking them when will the trucks be coming in.

They are not available online via BB.

And in my case, I want to take advantage BB's credit card offer of 18 month no interest on purchases over 499 bucks. (I already have a card for BB)

I am a college student so this deal is something I could use and I will pay it off within a month or two easily.

P.S. I am planning on purchasing the dock, case, and extra charger along with the ipad..

BB in San Diego

Does anyone have any idea as to when the BB's in San diego will restock with 3g ipads? Checked the page but all they have are some wifi models and o don't know when they'll be getting more
is it true that apple stores get shippments every day? Called an apple store and that's what they told me

I did this yesterday, and surprisingly they showed some units in stock at my BB store. I literally ran out and drove to BB, which is only 10 minutes from me. When I got there, the sales guy said that someone just bought the unit 5 minutes ago.

BB - Rockville MD and Gaithersburg MD no stock.

Rockville got a truck in today but no iPads were on it.

No truck into Gaithersburg.

Both stores say they are expecting a few on their Thurs/Fri trucks for the weekend (not like they will last that long).

Buying from the Apple store is starting to look like a not so bad idea. I bet they get a shipment of some kind in daily.

My local BB said they had the 16GB instock when I checked the website, when I showed up they had none and I got there 5 minutes after they opened. He said they didn't get any in the last shipment and had no idea why it said they did.

I ended up picking up a mint condition open box 32GB though for 540. I had a 92 dollar best buy gift card which is why I wanted it through them.

Check Bowie and Laurel, that's where I have seen them in the past (not saying they are in, but who knows). Anne Arundel is NOT an Apple affiliate store so they would not have them. Also, when you call, ask them to hold it for you. They will hold until close that day. It is what I did and worked.

Edit: Online has Bowie with all three WiFi in stock, no 3G ~listed~

I was able to pick up a 16GB wifi at the Fairlakes store yesterday around 4pm. They had atleast 10, maybe more, stocked in the cage.

BB.com shows Fairlakes, Manassas, and Tysons have the 16gb wifi in stock.

I called back, they told me to call back on thursday after 5PM because they r expecting a truck at 4:30 on Thursday. They said they do see 3g devices on the order but they are not sure which truck it is; hopefully it is the one that comes in tomorrow.

I am going to reserve one and then head out as soon as I know there is one for me.

I might wait until tomorrow but I think I'm going to the Apple store.

Some of the Best buy stores in Suffolk county LI have gotten stock of the wifi units in. In particular the south setauket and patchogue stores were listed as in stock online.

I posted in a different thread that BB in Chicago suburbs had gotten in 8-10 of each WiFi model yesterday late afternoon. 16, 32 and 64g versions, no 3G's.

I checked the Manchester, NH Best Buy online for my Mom the other day in the morning. Nothing listed. I went back to to check online around 12 noon, the site showed they had some in stock....the 16GB 3G.

Called the store, the very nice woman said she couldn't hold it for me, but she could sell it to me. Took my Rewardzone and CC info over the phone. I just went in to pick it up.....all paid for.

Mom was quite happy!

Very lucky. They only had 2-3 in stock at that time. No idea where they came from....maybe the stock room that someone misplaced ?

My mom had been calling all the stores with no luck. Finally got put on the Apple Store waitlist that morning. Of course she canceled that afternoon!

I took your advice and tried calling again. This weekend they did not answer the phones at all. Today 2 of the 3 did answer the phone. I was quite surpised.

I call every surrounding bb in Houston. A couple didn't carry them at all. It was funny how one of the stores had changed their phone greeting to discuss what to do about the iPad.
