Multiplayer:

Soldier of fortune 2, capture the flag work LAN 3v3 on phars playpen.....AMAZING. completely unbeatable experience.

Carmaggedon 2, "fox and hounds mode" on a work LAN was also one of the best gaming times ever.

Single player:

Doom and Marathon were far more immersive than any of the current gen stuff.

Currently really enjoying Minecraft.

Is it that good? I'm kinda turned off by the fact that it's a bit short...

Say whaaaaat!
There are 8 campaigns, each one takes approx an hour if played properly. There are 4 main game modes and a special weekly-updated one. I've put 100 hours into it so far and I still haven't experienced everything in the game. Which gets harder on each update since they add more! If you play for the story you'll have seen the whole thing in 8 hours - but you don't play L4D games for the story.

Yea there's a lot of game.

Best game experience? Duke Nukem 3D. I guess I play more games in XP.

TF2, bootcamp MBP. Almost always on top 3 on clan community servers. Been invited to join teams on tournaments but don't have time.

Old school: Deus Ex. No One Lives Forever.

Wow, if you thought Unreal Tournament 04 was good, you really needed to have played Unreal Tournament 99. Best gaming experience I have had in my entire life. Nothing will ever come close to that game, from the music, the taunts, the weapons, the style... just everything.

While UT04 was good, it doesn't even touch the first one.

You probably never played the WinterGlades map for UT04. And you probably never had the Martian from Mars Attacks, Homer Simpson, Bender and all those other nice fan-made characters/bots playing with you or against you.

UT99 was great fun, but UT2004 was a whole lot better.
