Best iPhone 4 screen protector?

Does the SGP Steinheil Ultra make a shield for the back of the phone also, or is it only the front?

SGP are really nice and smooth. I just ordered SGP's Steinheil Incredible Shield ULTRA MATTE. Love the matte finish on the back. It also comes with the Cystal Clear FRONT screen protector instead of a matte one; so then the clarity of the screen it top-notch. Its just the BACK and the SIDES which are matte which i like because i always wanted to keep the back scratch-free and fingerprint free. :D
 
We did order for ZAGG invisibleSHIELD though we bought it mainly because of its lifetime warranty. You might want to check Power Support or SGP Steinheil.

The Power Support HD Anti-Glare Film sounds pretty good. I'm wondering if anyone has had the chance to try it out. My biggest concern is degradation in quality of the retina display. I've tried a couple that made a minor difference. For those that aren't as visual, may not mind or notice at all, but as a designer I know notice the smallest change. I wasn't too keen.

I've actually been using my iP4 without a screen protector, as the glass is suppose to be nearly shatter proof and scratch resistant. But yesterday I noticed a very faint scratch just below the earpiece. At first thought it was just smudge but didn't come off after trying to buff it out. I put the phone in my pocket, and there is never anything in there along with the phone (to ensure nothing makes contact. So I don't know how I got that scratch.

So basically, I'm looking for a screen protector that will add an extra layer of protection without losing quality of the retina display.

Even I was confused about whether I should choose Anti-glare or Crystal. But after reading some threads here I have decided to get myself a Anti-glare.

get powersupport crystal clear, i had the anti glare hd, it kinda messed with my clarity. or the sgp crystal clear, had it on my 3gs. it was really good. but right now my iphone is stuck with the powersupport.
 
I have no idea how, but I've got two horrible, intermittent scratches on my iPhone 4. By intermittent I mean, small, tiny scratches, but lots of them in a row. And two rows of them.

And recently, my iPhone has been smudging a lot too, including having this weird white-ish circle in the middle of the screen.

I don't have much of a problem with glare, but I really don't want to get any more scratches and possibly hide them or make them less apparent to me as it makes me really sad every time I see them. I'm also sick of the oily fingerprints.

So is there any consensus on the best screen protector out there for the iPhone. I was really hoping not to spend too much.

I already have a case so i was just looking for something for the screen.

My favorite so far is the Steinheil Crystal that came with my Hybrid EX bumper. Applied 100% perfect on both sides, no problems at all. Its been on now for almost a month and still looks absolutely perfect with no scrathces or lifting of any kind. The protectors are thicker than the cheapo Ebay ones. It simply looks like theres nothing there but you know youre protected.

BTW, ive tried many screen shields from Power Support, Zagg, Ebay and Deal Extreme. None compare to the Steinheil for me. One has come close quality wise and that was the Brando Crystal.
 
Anti-fingerprint does distort the clarity. To the point, that I decided to live with the fingerprints.

Of the anti-fingerprint options, power support is the best based upon clarity, ease of install, no bubbles at the edges etc.
 
I started off with a wrapsol and after 3 replacements decided it was not for me...very thick and protective, but shows just too many imperfections....then used the Switcheasy screen protectors that come with the cases.These were good as temporary solutions.I am now the Powersupport antiglare ont he front and the crystal on the back...and just love it.
 
Just wanted to share experience, bought the RIOT Outfitters brand... terrible. vertical rainbows, smeary, too thick (some games don't respond as well as they should to touch). Best Buy sells em, try not to buy.

I've used Zagg on my previous phones (non-iPhones), and they worked great. But ZIS messes with the retina display quality on the iP4. It doesn't look as good with it on. I'm still trying to figure out which screen protector is best to keep the quality of the retina display. It's one of the main reasons why I got the iP4.
 
Best iPhone 4 screen protector? Well, I've been using GadgetShieldz for a long time and I'm really satisfied with it. It has full body protection. I didn't really see the point of paying a higher price on another brand for just screen protection and leaving other parts of my iPhone vulnerable. And also, the shipping of GadgetShieldz was free, so I think I got a great deal.

But does it affect the Retina Display. Pretty much all protective screen covers I've seen diminishes the quality of the iP 4's Retina Display. Some more than others. While many can deal with the little degradation, there are some of us who are fickle. You don't want to spend $700 for a phone with amazing screen quality to slap on something and it doesn't look as good. I notice the difference. So I'm still looking for that screen protector that works with the Retina Display. I've already found a couple of feint scratches on my screen. Guess the Gorilla Glass isn't as tough as they make it sound to be. My phone has a case, but not a screen protector. And anywhere I store it, I make sure there is nothing else in there to rub against the screen, so not sure how I got those scratches.

How does it affect the quality of the retina display? Zagg has this new HD screen protector, wondering if anyone has tried it. Any other phone, I would grab almost any screen protector out there. But 4/4S are the only phones with that kind of screen quality. I don't want to apply a screen protector that will make the retina display look like all the other phones with lower quality displays. Even if it can protect it like crazy. Right now, I've just chosen to not put a screen protector on mine. Relying on Gorilla Glass, but still being pretty careful where I put my iPhone, or how I handle it.

What are the easiest to put on?

I generally do a wet install with all screen shields. A drop of baby shampoo and water creates the solution. From there dip the screen shield into the solution and apply you will see how easy it is to position the shield. Then take a credit card and squeegee out the water. The remaining moisture under the shield will evaporate over time.

They do impact image quality. Whether or not they "destroy" is subjective or else no one would ever use them. Some find the effect acceptable. Others do not. I don't care for them. YMMV and I can't tell you what you'd prefer.

Then you haven't tried PS or SGP crystal. Be careful making broad, sweeping statements based on your limited experience.

They all have a learning curve. Many will have bubbles on application and that really doesn't mean anything one way or another if you can squeegee the bubbles out. If the bubbles can't be removed then you probably have a dust problem and should try the shower trick.
