In the past, they mentioned sandboxing. What is that?

Malwarebytes has the best description of sandboxing that doesn't apply to any specific system.

All applications should be run in their own private sandboxes anyway, to avoid contamination from outside influences, and to avoid contaminating other spaces. Too often, a software glitch can have devastating effects on the whole system. Sandboxing is meant to prevent that.

Is it better to buy from Apple App Store or Affinity website?

I just found it easier from App Store.
As mentioned earlier, updates come through the App Store then.
As far as I can tell it’s the same app.

It's all about your comfort level. When you get an e-mail from the company, will you rush to update their applications? Would you rather the Mac App Store do it for you?

I asked customer services if the differences mentioned in the above thread has been taken care but they said that they have no idea. They told me to ask support. Support has no comment...

I don't remember the reason but when I tried their demo, there was something that made me think it is better to buy from Apple App Store.

Note that the developer actually makes more money from direct sales rather than Apple's App Store since they don't have to pay a cut to Apple.
Well that’s the developers choice, to sell on the App Store and potentially get more sales.

I got an official reply from tech support. They told m that:

"The only difference is apps from the Mac App Store are sandboxed, which can cause issues if you are trying to use Affinity Photo and plugins. The version direct from our store, isn't sandboxed and can interact with plugins a lot easier. Other than, its the same app with the same features, no matter where you get it from."

So what do you think? Do people usually use plugins in Photo? I don't use plugins in Photoshop.

Anybody has experience with using version bought from Apple App Store and plugins?

Is it possible to draw axes and lines with arrowhead(s) in Affinity Design? I went to the App Store to check out the reviews. I saw a post made 3 years ago about lack of this basic feature. Affinity said they would add it later. Has this feature been added? I did not test this when I tried the trial version few months ago.

You have an awful lot of questions. Why don‘t you just grab the trial version of both products and check if they suit your needs? Affinity also has a user forum where most likely all your questions have been covered multiple times already... Cheers.

As I wrote, when I got the trail version few months ago, I did not test it. I cannot run the trail version again as it has expired. Also, posts about the arrowhead was made in 2017 and 2018. There is no followup on those threads.

They added the arrowheads at v1.7.0 (see Version History) a while ago...
