Also a fan of Byline.
It's stable and now I can race through my feeds everyday.
The experience is even better than on a desktop... because of the auto archiving feature.

I love how clicking on outgoing links works everywhere, and keeps you in the same "feed page", if you hit page down it goes into the next feed :)

It's smart, way faster, and at $3.99?
I am a fairly heavy Google Reader user (I get nearly 2000 feeds daiily) and Byline has been a joy to use for me.
I kept asking myself how could I have survived using Safari!

And since most of my safari use is reading feeds, Byline has gone as far as to almost replaced Safari for me.

Now, it does crashes once in a while.
But here's the thing, it crashes way less than Safari.
So I am very pleased with it.

Get it!

I originally used NetNewsWire, but once I realized how much I would be using such an app, I went and purchased Newsstand.

It really is a polished app, and the price is quite reasonable.

I use NetNewsWire since it syncs with the desktop OSX app through NewsGator which means if I read it on my iPod Touch, it's marked as read on my Macbook Pro.

What I would love is an RSS reader that sync with gReader that intitally download all the headers and load the content when I want to read it. I do not want the RSS reader to download every images, body content, whatever. The headers would be enough for the initial sync but unfortunately Byline does not do this and attempts to download every single RSS item with images as well.

There should be two mode, Headers only and Full bodies type of sync.

I get like ~2000 RSS items daily and about 1500 of that, I simply read the header and move to next item.

While I agree with you that there should be an option for this, but I really love the fact that Byline actually downloads all the content for me.

I also get around ~2000 feeds daily and Byline makes it really really fast for me to skim through the items (I just hit the down arrow button at the top when i don't want to read something). It usually does a very good job at the background, other times, I just have a drink of water and it'll be almost done downloading a couple hundred items.

You can also mark items as read if you swipe an item from left to right. But I rarely do that anymore.

For some reason I prefer to see images when I look at feeds, as I would with the desktop Google Reader. But that's a personal preference. :)

Well I agree with you on that, Byline is awesome for full body sync/archive, which is awesome for me for subway/bus rides and other situations like that but there are times where I just want to use Byline for bathroom breaks (usually not great reception) and I just dont want to hold for 20 min.
