I use the yellow Costco micro fibres they do. But I’m also super paranoid so I just lightly dust and 99% of the time I keep the lid open so it doesn’t pick up oil from keyboard.

If you want to be sure you're getting a high quality microfiber cloth, you could always just get the Apple Polishing Cloth. It's expensive but you know what you're getting.

Apparently this is what Apple uses. I use it and it works great.

They use to sell a cleaner in store but then stopped.. you think they’d sell this if its true

I posted #10 my Apple Store using certain 70/30 isopropyl pre-saturated wipes (in their service department) and ordered them myself. I can imagine what they use internally varies by country and is cost based also.

I do recall decade+ ago they used to sell consumer screen cleaners (iKlear) but haven't seen them recently, but then the sensitivity of the coatings has changed quite dramatically over the years.

Apple used to provide a black cleaning cloth with the MBPs...have two, from 2010 & 2015 MBPs.

Same.

I may have gotten the one I currently use to clean my M1 with my still-functioning 2011 MBP. (It has the optional anti-glare display, which besides reducing glare also tends to hide dust and smudges; I've probably needed to clean it fewer than half a dozen times in all the years I've owned it.)

I miss when they shipped macbooks with a microfiber cloth included. that was a good quality one and size too, and it was just a nice touch to say “hey thanks for the $1300 or more, here’s a cloth to keep it looking sharp.” But anyway as others said already, most any other microfiber cloth is adequate

This is Apple's own support page on how to clean all their products:
Cleaning Apple Products
I follow Apple's directions for the screen for Retina MBP.

I have several microfibre cloths from my older iKlear purchases. I use a clean one for the display. Will add only water, if needed, for greasy fingerprints and keyboard prints that won't just wipe off. So far, so good.

I don't use the iKlear solution for the Retina screens but I do for all the others, since it is made for that, and the chassis of each Mac.

Yes, Apple used to use iKlear before Retina displays came on the scene. They recommended it and sold it in stores. They ended up being the #1 brand because of that.

Do you know the brand they use now for the pre-saturated wipes?

I did order iKlear aswell but really disliked their new formula as there's more elbow grease involved, it almost smears more.

I got the cylindrical tub of the wipes that Apple uses in my country but I could only find the soft pack on Amazon.com with the exact same specs here.

Zeiss Lens Wipes

I use them on my glasses and smartphone, but I don't really find those to work very well on a laptop screen. They're just too small and not moist enough.

I find that Whoosh works decently for ordinary build up:

If there's lots of buildup, my heavy hitter is Hoodman Lens Cleanse:

I see a whole bunch of cloths/towels on Amazon each claiming to be the best. Which one do you guys use to clean the MacBook Pro’s screen? I heard that the velvety microfiber ones are the best but It’s still hard to go by the photos on the different product listings on Amazon. Would appreciate any feedback thanks

I use toilet paper, leave less fibre on screen after wiping.
