If you really want my opinion, invest it, save it, or give it to a cause that's near to your heart. But if you want to know about computer buying, well, that's a different question. ;)

i'll take a "wild" guess and assume that he's talking about $2K for a computer setup...but other than that, i don't know where to begin...for home? for office? mobile? can you give us more info?

Buy an iMac G4 for about $500 & then get some JBL creatures & then buy with the leftover ~$1400 an iMac (core duo).

Or, you can buy 20 iMac G3's.

Or 1 MacBook Pro.

Or 10 JBL speakers, and 10 iMac G3's.

Or 1.5 Mac Mini's with no display.

Or 6 Dell Dimension PC's with the 15" flat panel poop grade.

Or 2 20" Cinema Displays with no computer, just for decoration.

Or 1 PowerMac G5.

Or 300 Performas.

Or 10 PowerBook G3's.

Or iPod's.

Etc, we need details.

Do you like the clean look?
Do you need portability?
Is that a solid $2000 or can you be flexible?
Are you a Pro user?
What will you do with it?
Do you like silver or white?

A lot of good quality advice so far...

I'd say a wait until the macbooks come out to make a decision.

it depends on what you need, desktop, moble, and how long you can wait.

Can yuo wait til fall? if you can, you can wait til january, get a comp with merom and leopard... my two cents

Kinda sucks when you have to pay a skank hoe of a hooker to get a blow...
pop! :D

jk. but seriously...lame.
