Best VPN for Mac

Hi All,
I've been having a lot of people tell me nowadays for security it is best to use a VPN when online, I've tried a few free ones which seem to slow my speeds to a snails pace, I'm reluctant to try a paid for one in case it does the same.
Are there any ones considered the best at the moment? I don't really want to pay through the nose maybe like 30-40 GBP a year.

I've no idea if it's the best but I've been using Cloak for the past year or so when I travel or am on a public wifi. It seems to do the job well & is extremely easy to use / setup.

Edit: Personally I don't think it's worth using a VPN while online all the time (at home) unless you live in a Nazi state or your government has firewall restrictions on you doing stuff you want to do or getting around location restrictions.
 
Paying is only worth it if you care about whether a VPN stores its logs and of course the number of access points they offer. I haven't looked in a while if the free ones store your logs or not. www.airvpn.org is my favourite.

I'm going on my second year with PIA. Got them for the reason you mention, plus cheaper subscription streaming of major league sports that charge much more to stream to a US IP. I've had no real issues to speak of. Once in a while you'll come across a site that has some of the PIA servers blacklisted (e.g. Craigslist) so you either have to turn off the VPN, or try to find an unblocked PIA server to connect to.
 
Ive been using Froot VPN on and off for a couple of years now without a single issue. They have fast stable connections and its not overpriced like some other services.
 
I've been using Freedome from F-Secure for awhile now and I have no complaints. They have clients for both OS X and iOS that make connecting and/or switching exit servers quick & painless.

The price is reasonable and the speeds are great. I don't use p2p or country spoofing so I can't speak to that, but overall it seems to be a solid service.

don't forget VPN speed... no reason to stay with/choose a vpn provider that promises everything whilst providing a connection that is throttled/slower than your ISP

My experience with a VPN was that my iMessages would not stay synced between my iPhone, my iPad, and my Mac.

You're quite welcome - which one did you end up selecting?

PS - I have found PIA's speed to be excellent. One time in the two years I've had them I noticed a speed degradation- so I connected to a different server and the speed was fine again.

Disconnect.me have a great VPN with good speeds, no logs etc. and that also block trackers too. The VPN, or 'premium' service is around £40 a year.

What is you have to remember that the ISPs three strike clauses about going to nefarious places! Watch this three video series on how to have two router with one being a VPN router to connect to for questionable sites.

 
VyprVPN by far. I lived in China for 4 years where the great firewall makes internet browsing a total nightmare. Out of all the VPN services I tried (and there have been at least a dozen) only VyprVPN worked. There was another that worked as well but it throttled speeds to the point of being unusable. So for me VyprVPN is the best.

If you are looking for VPN app for Mac and for that you have started searching but I you visit five couple of sites to know which is the best VPN for Mac on every signal platform you will find a different list which creates the biggest confusion as we can see on this thread as well people have shared their best VPN providers but I am looking for a highly recommended VPN app for Mac by the experts who also declares the VPN as the best in the world.

So please share expert people thoughts with their name which will be easy for users to understand which VPN is more reliable.

I use secureline VPV (avast) Curious though if anyone has any experience with secureline, would love to get some feedback on .

Yes..... I use VyprVPN as well and find it stable and fast.

PIA has been great speed and reliability wise for me on portable devices and Mac. They don't keep logs and great for P2P.
