What is a a good wireless charger for the iPhone X (other than the Mophia and Belkin one Apple sells)? I want one that is cheaper than the one Apple is selling, but still decent quality. If possible can you also add the link to your comment.

funny that you ask. lol. I was just asked the very same thing.
i found this:

and there are many videos like that on YT

long story short: they're all the same. the important thing is that it is Qi and is 7.5W
(the belkin and mophie suggested by apple will output the 7.5 once they update the OS on the phone)

Does the iPhone X have fast *wireless* charging? I know it has fast wired.
5W presently, I believe a software update will increase that to 7.5W...

In either case, most chargers specify a 2A plug, so the one that comes with the phone won’t work well as it’s only 1A. You’d need an iPad plug or a USB plug from Amazon rated for 2A.

It will when they update the iOS. However, I have seen in a couple places that the wireless fast charging may only work with Belkin and Mophie, some sort of proprietary thing Apple seems to be working with them on.

I use my wireless fast charger from Samsung (from Galaxy Note 5 days). Got it from Groupon a couple of years ago.

I have a couple Mophies, but they are different than the disc one on Apple. It is not a fast charger, but it is magnetized so really easy to get it in the right “spot” and vibrations won’t shift it. Really low profile too and only one small white light (not the UFO light show some are). Works well through my Spigen Slim Armor case.

I think it is around $40 USD?

This is the first I’ve heard this rumor. Can you give the source? I personally doubt it, given they way Apple proudly stated they were using the non-proprietary Qi format.

I will try and find it. It was definitely only indicated as for fast charging and it may definitely not be true. I saw it in a couple charger reviews...be back!

I use this Anker one (https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Wirele...dy-20&linkId=5d4833976c1837fecfceac3bc9770f20) but it is currently unavailable for some reason. It was $26 when it was for sale, not sure if it will come back.

But the entire surface is a rubber material, and it is pretty small so I have had no issues with it sliding around, or "missing" the charge point. The only thing I don't like are the ugly blue LED's on the base, but those only light up when you first put the phone down, they don't stay on.

All of these Qi chargers are terribly designed. Balancing an iPhone on top of a puck that is smaller than the iPhone is absurd. No thank you.

I found a few on Amazon that are much smarter that allow the iPhone to rest and be propped up either in portrait or landscape and your iPhone doesn't go flying off with the slightest touch.

Now that iPhone supports Qi charging, I expect much more innovation to start in this space.

Okay, if read here you will see only the Mophie and Belkin “Officially supports 7.5W fast charging upgrade”: https://9to5mac.com/2017/10/12/whats-the-best-qi-wireless-charger-for-iphone-8-and-iphone-x/

And this is video where I first saw it mentioned:

It may not be true but I opted to hold off on getting a fast charger until I know for sure either way :) I do most charging overnight anyway.

This is why I like the Mophie one above, it has a magnet so no balancing required and it definitely is not flying off anywhere. I do like that it disappears underneath the X. I am looking at getting the Spigen stand for work, though.

how are you liking it?

Getting the exact same one (in white) delivered tome within a couple of hours. I also grabbed an anker qc3.0 power brick to go along with it. Hoping this combo will sort me out for when apple pushes the 7.5w capability to the X

I also have the small puck anker and a larger jetech wireless charger but I'm pretty sure those only support 5w. They are decent.

I picked up this RavPower + this Bonacell Power adapter. It was only $17 total when I bought before the price jumped post X launch.

I use this one, mainly because of the price. It was $10 when I bought it.

I have the black version. I like it alot. I usually use it for overnight charging ( I use wired charging during the day).

I use my 24w anker adapter with it.

Hmm... well I sincerely hope this is not the case. But maybe they are using it as an incentive to purchase the AirPower pad too.

Once the “fast charging” update is applied, charging wattage will increase by 50% up to 7.5W, which should provide a subtle, yet noticeable increase in charging speed. We will be sure to test the chargers again once the update goes live, but technically all of them, sans the Anker Wireless Charging Pad, supply enough output to support 7.5W fast charging. The issue, however, may have to do with secure encryption. We’ve heard through unofficial channels that only supported partners (in this case Belkin and Mophie) will support the faster 7.5W charging.
It will be interesting to see what they do. Apple seems to be going so slow with releasing new features lately and then running betas for a month or more when they do. We're just finally getting Apple Cash and iCloud Messages still hasn’t been seen, so the faster wireless capability may not be until well into 2018.

I have the exact same one - same brand, same model, from Amaxon...actually two of them. I have the silver one that doesn't come with the AC adapter on my nightstand at home, and the black one with the AC adapter on my desk at work. Love them both so far. On my desk it's the perfect angle for Face ID to work.
