I’m not sure what “custom firmware” is but once you install the beta, there’s no going back to the currently released firmware on the AirPods.

Now that makes sense!

And if you are on the beta you have no choice but to stay there until the update is released. AirPods cannot be “downgraded”.

I heard APP's are bad on first load of mac google meet. apparently dialling out and back in solves this. wondering if this is fixed with the new beta firmware...?

So new beta is out. I wonder how the new Voice Isolation is working.
Well, it’s been a year since I started this thread, and we’re at another beta season. I have not tested today, but with release 1 and the new firmware, I was having all kinds of issues. I’ll be heavily testing with work phone calls over the next 3 days, and will report back!

I am up to date with the newest firmwares and beta on iOS. The stability of calls has greatly improved since my previous post. It feels like it takes an extra moment to connect to my phone, but that is also when I am trying to take a call and impatient. Overall, the firmware is in good shape for me.

Anyone have any issues with the latest firmware that came out this week for Airpods pro 2? Since this update I have had my airpods randomly disconnect while playing a apple music playlist (Iphone 15 pro max ios 18 beta 3). Its happened multiple times.
Sometimes it seems like the music just stops, other times it seems like the airpods lost connection. No issue on the few phone calls i have tried

I am having a problem with connectivity. It seems my brand new AirPods 2 that I beta updated doesn't connect sometimes when there is a call and I am listening to music. It doesn't switch over.

How is the ANC? I have AirPod pro 2’s on standard software and the ANC was better on my first gen. An ear fit test says it’s a good seal but I can still hear the tv in the background whereas with the first gen I couldn’t. Has there been any improvement in the beta software?

I know I’m replying to an older post from the summer, so I apologize. I’ve noticed a decrease in noise cancellation quality in recent iOS betas. Might be an old device, might be my imagination. Feels like a consistent observation.

On a different note, since updating to 18.2 beta, I have received multiple complaints that it is hard to hear me on phone calls. That’s a new disappointment!
