Three of the tiredest points in this forum, all discussed to death, beaten like a dead horse, redundant to the max, thoroughly explained many times so anyone who cares can figure them out, stated as though no one had ever said anything in response to them before, including the person replied to. Quite a feat!
Did you actually have a point to discuss?

Agree! I’d have to say if I had to complain about anything it would be about the speakers they aren’t terrible but maybe could be a tad bit better?
Sure, just as soon as you find a Windows laptop in the same class with better sounding speakers. Let's be real here, you won't. To complain about Apple's speakers is kinda odd because no Windows laptop on the market has better (or anywhere close) speakers in each class level.

Plenty of Dell laptops have better speakers than MBPs.

LMAO and there are plenty of Macs that have better speakers. Nice try at making a generalized statement. I said to find a Windows laptop in the same class as each one of the MacBooks. They won't have better speakers than the Mac. And if I'm wrong then show me a Dell laptop in the same class as each one of the current MacBooks that has better speakers. I'm waiting.

Plenty of Dells have great speakers. E.g. 7390 or XPS models - great for video conferencing. Wait over.

Oh now it's "Plenty of Dells have Great Speakers" vs. Plenty of Dells have better speakers than Macs. Yeah just as I thought, you knew what I said was true so you reworded your nonsense. You're right, Wait over, because there's no point in waiting for you to prove me wrong. Haha. There are quite a few YouTube videos demonstrating the latest Dell XPS top spec laptop against the MacBook Pro 16" and the speakers on those Dells are crap when compared to the Mac.

Unfortunately for you, speaker quality is subjective and per use case, so whether it's great speakers or better speakers, the bottom line is that I provided you with a couple of Dell systems to prove the point. I'm not exactly sure what your beef is with PC laptop quality speakers as I have a Dell laptop with great speakers for my use case - conf calls - against a MBP which is not so hot for its speakers. So your wait is over.

So Calif
Unless your keyboard is Bluetooth, and then there is a problem. And we are beta testers. There’s no way to ignore that.
I'm lucky that I am not a beta tester.

My BT keyboard is working fine (typing this reply)....

Guess I got the lucky M1 ?

With the beta tester mentality it will be a while before you actually get a mac.

2020: Have fun beta testing it for us
2021: (Rumored redesigns come out) Never buy gen 1!
2022: (Second gen redesigns come out) Finally I can buy one

Thats 2 years away. And god forbid a spicy rumor doesnt come up about future models getting a nice feature so you end up waiting another 2 years for the second gen of that new feature to come out

You haven't proved anything. Sure there are Dell laptops with decent speakers but you haven't compared one model to a specific Mac model. Case in point you can't. And as much Apple trashing that goes on around here (On an Apple-enthusiast site at that ?) I am fully in my rights and justification to criticize Wintel PC laptop's crap speakers. Since the latest Dell that matches the 16" MBP can't come close in speaker quality then it's safe to say you can't prove any other models beat matching Mac models. Speaker quality is not subjective if it's a major difference, and it is. Just let it go because you have failed trying to make your point. Please move on to another member. After all you replied to my initial post and this conversation is done.

Speaker quality is indeed subjective and per use case based. If you don't understand that then you'll struggle to be able to compare and contrast for what your requirements are. I've also given you two Dell models to go compare to a MBP if you are not sure how to proceed. Ultimately you simply typing what you think is simply your opinion but please deal in facts.

Take your own advice. And please move on to another member as I requested? You seem to want to continue arguing over something you can't prove. Show me a video comparing the top spec and latest Dell compared against the 16" MBP demonstrating the sound quality of the speakers and showing that the Dell is better and I'll listen. Otherwise please move on. You seem to be upset that I criticize Windows laptops....on a Mac forum. That's rich. ?

Thank you. I was only stating that if I were to have any sort of an issue with anything on the Mac it would be the sound (honestly it really isn’t bad at all)

I love seeing people post and talk saying "I wouldn't get this MacBook y'all are just beta testers" yeah and so is everyone else that buys a new version of a Mac or other brand. Welcome to the life that we have become the product.

PS- The M1 MacBook smokes all the others before it ?
So true! I love buying “first generation” Apple products, and I never have an issue with them 3+ years down the line.

you know honestly come to think of it neither have i. Bought the 2018 12.9 iPad Pro its amazing, bought the XS Max I only had to give that up because my child needed a new phone (and I wasn't going to let her get the new one...) Hopefully this Mac can still blow away the comp for a LONG TIME!!

Don’t worry... the ghost of Steve Jobs will come along, pat you on the back, and tell you... “You’re holding it wrong.” ?
I think I was one of the people who always was holding it like it was supposed to be. I had the iPhone 4 for almost 5 years and never had an issue with antenna gate.

I'm playing PC games since... I don't know when... since the 486 with 4 MB RAM, I've build all my gaming rigs myself. So I know my way around with being a beta tester and my MacBook Air M1 doesn't feel like beta at all.
It's a solid 1.0 and yea, there are some flaws, most of them because devs of programs and apps have to catch up to the new platform but I haven't experienced any hardware issues till now.
I'm using a bluetooth Magic Mouse and the magic keyboard and it just works. I have a 600 $ monitor for gaming but the M1 screen beats it by any means...
Guys, most of the problems people are ranting about are Big Sur problems. It's a new OS update. Microsoft OS updates are way worse and cause way more problems, except Windows 10 maybe. We could argue about beta testing the new OS but the M1? That's bullcrap.
The hardware itself is just a bigger iPad. How long is Apple using the ARM technology and worked towards this? It's not like they invented something completely new out of nowhere. And when we talk about flaws, the biggest issues Apple always had are design changes. The iPhone 4 was a design change, antenna gate was a design issue. Bend gate was a design issue. Now the air and the MacBook Pro are both rock solid and refined designs. The real beta testers will be the ones that buy the new MBP models next year and the new Air models in 2022 because they will have new designs.

Nope the Bluetooth and wifi issues are the M1 MacBooks.

But still they are very solid and i dont regard them as beta testing at all. Just a couple of niggles......
