Seems to have gone quiet after a good 2012 and 2013.
Anyone picked up on releases for this year on Mac?

Elite: Dangerous are anticipating a Mac version within 3 months of their PC game, according to their Kickstarter promise.

The PC version is currently in alpha and we should see both versions this year.

Geez, seriously? The year is just a bit more than 30 days old and you are already complaining about a lack of games? Give a bit more time, for Christ's sake.

We already got Tomb Raider 2013 this year, F1 2013 will be released in the next couple of weeks, and Feral has teased Hitman Absolution, LEGO Marvel Heroes, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and what could be Anno 1404 or 1701 (or something completely different). Also, DXHRDC.

Deep Silver is working on a Mac port of their zombie RPG shooter Dead Island.

Aspyr also have teased that they have a couple of games coming up.

Plus, there are several popular Kickstarter projects due this year, including Wasteland 2, Elite Dangerous, Tides of Numenera and Pillars of Eternity.

Yep, saw that. Pretty disappointing compared to quite an exciting last 2 years.

I think the majority of what released in each of the past two years was not known in January or February of those years. I'm sure a lot of good games will come as is mentioned directly above this post.

I didn't know about those Feral Teases. Operation Flashpoint? Yes, please! Hitman Absolution? Oh, yeah. Sounds good to me! I hope those do wind up coming out for Mac. That would be great.

Nope, I wasn't complaining about lack of games. I was simply enquiring if anyone had seen any news on releases for the rest of the year.

Its gonna be a great year for Mac gaming. That I am sure of.

We will of course be bringing some new exciting stuff to the channel, but we will also be releasing some classics that we have been after for a VERY long time :D

Plus Feral will have a slew of great releases this year, and the indie market is getting stronger by the month. My indie pick right now would be Banner Saga which is made by some friends here in Austin. :apple:

Sounds like all good news then. I hope you guys all keep up the great work in 2014.

Classics you say? Classics? Oh, man. Now I am dying to know what they are! You tease! lol

By the way, I just began playing Tomb Raider II the other day. I'm a little behind all the other guys playing the newest one but I will catch up!

How about little games too?

Little Racers Street on Steam

Little Racers Street has recently surfaced on Steam and it really is a bundle of fun.

It's a retro style top down (ish) racing game whereby you fling little vehicles around tracks made up of various street sections within two cities. Kind of like Metropolis Street Racer/Project Gotham crossed with Micro Machines/Mashed (without weapons sadly).

There's a simple pleasure to whizzing round the tracks that feels fun in its own right and I think it really captures something good in its feel and handling.

There's a large career mode with plenty of challenges, loads of cars and an online mode with cross platform play. I loved the game when it initially appeared as an Xbox 360 indie game a couple of years ago and it's wonderful to be able to play it on my Mac now. If you like these sort of games I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Sims 4, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt seem to be big game for Mac, Wild Hint might be released in 2015 though. Mac gaming are getting stronger toward to customer.

Just install steam on bootcamp and you won't have to worry about gaming again...

I second that! Small (simple) games do have a place in OSX. In addition, I really wish for more successful indie games (for OSX). I miss the good old days when MacOS gaming had several little small-fry quality (usually shareware) games from companies like:

Ambrosia Software
Spiderweb
Delta Tao
Pangea
etc.

Sure, I love hearing about the success of Aspyr and Feral, but the small indie games are really refreshing too. Occasionally, the indies come up with a novel hit like Klei's Don't Starve.

And that company that just released that Viking adventure/strategy game, that seems promising too.

Does anyone have any idea if we can expect DayZ to come to the mac this year? I doubt it will but would be cool.

Doubtful. If I recall correctly, the developer said something about porting the game when the Windows version is done, but since the game will probably stay in the alpha/beta/early access stage for a looooong time to come, I guess the Mac version won't come before the actual zombie apocalypse.

That's one of the significant drawbacks to being a Mac user. We are ill-prepared for the zombie apocalypse. :D
