And strangely enough, when I click "Play", the app keeps crashing...
 
Are you guys both on jailbroken phones?

And did you guys download the update? we addressed the specific jailbreak crash issues in the recent update.


let me know if it still continues to crash. and also as a reminder, after installation, remember to turn the phone off and on again just to be safe.

oh.. so that's why. i was gambling that it was due to the fact it was jailbroken too. i've just tried the v1.1 and yep. still crashes. :eek:

perhaps it could be due to the memory eating apps like pdanet and mobilelog2.2. :D

Definitely something I'm working on. Would love to accept suggestions or some creative input? I can give you credit in the iTunes description if anyone is interested in whipping something up?
 
maybe something like this but with 2's instead of aces and getting rid of the word poker?

also, the app has crashed so many times... i was never able to finish a game... i don't have a jailbreak phone and i did reboot my iphone, twice already.

Yeah, I have a jailbroken/unlocked phone (3G) running 2.2. And I got whatever version that was available yesterday (could've been the latest one). I checked for updates, didn't see any, so I assume I had the latest one. Restarting the phone didn't help either. I still can't use the app :(
 
Thanks guys for the feedback and for the logo suggestion. A cartoonized version of that would be fantastic actually!

I'm working now to sort out the issues and hopefully can figure out why are test results were so skewed.
 
I should revise my last post stating that I can use the app, change the settings and whatnot. It's only when I click "Play" that it crashes the app and brings me back to the home menu.

Game needs polish

I bought the game last night and played for a bit. This is the review I posted on iTunes.

"I'm glad to see someone made a big two poker game... i used to play this in high school all the time. The only problem is that the game just isn't that fun to play. It's very bland and needs more polish.
- Even with the feature to tap the screen to speed up play, it needs to be tap once to speed up play all the way to your turn again. I keep tapping the screen multiple times after I play just to get to my turn again.
- Some type of card animation would be nice when players play their cards.
- You also need to make the cards look better. Right now they are a little fuzzy and hard to read.
- How about letting us enter our name instead of displaying "User"?
- Better sound effects would be nice

Add some more polish to the game and I will adjust my ratings."

another suggestion though.. is it okay to change the fonts? because in the options menu, i'm unable to properly read the words actually.

regarding the crashing, here's more info about my phone

Jailbroken
Crashes on clicking "Play"
Jailbroken Apps Installed: Cydia, MobileLog2.2, PdaNet 1.5.1, videorecorder3g, LiveClock, FiveIconDock, gPower.

that's just about it.

Crashes on pressing "play", but other 3 buttons work, restarting/rebooting doesnt change anything, it still crashes everytime i press "play"

i assume the app is still being fixed for this problem that many people have?

As for the crash issues specific to the jailbroken devices, we're hoping this next update address them. I can imagine how annoying it must be to have the app crash on you after pressing play.

We're submitting the update for review soon and I'll keep everyone posted when it's approved.

edit: oh right.. the updates are not out yet. ):
 
Don't have this one but Big Two instead which is same thing tad better in the graphics department. I like this game it's decent not as much though as I like Tichu though with 4 players. My favorite Chinese card game in app store by far is Guan which is a 2 player game (just you vs. AI). Anyway the more people exposed to Big2 Poker, Big Two, Guan the better as I think they're pretty decent card games.
