At the iPhone hacks section.
BigBoss, of the BigBoss Cydia Repository, is warning jailbreakers who have yet to update to iOS 7.0.4 to update to the firmware before Apple releases an update blocking the evasi0n jailbreak.

Now that iOS7 has been jailbroken, it is advised that anyone that ever wants to be on iOS 7.0.4 *ever* gets there very soon. Speculation is that Apple will release an update soon and when that occurs, they will stop signing 7.0.4. Users will have a limited time window to get onto iOS7 and be jailbreakable. Further, reports are that evasi0n only runs on a freshly restored 7.0.4 rather than one a device that got to 7.0.4 via “software update”. So if you have not done so yet, now is the time to backup your device in iTunes, restore it to a fresh 7.0.4, and keep it on ios7.0.4.

And he's right IMO.
Update quick if you guys want to make sure you take advantage of the new JB. I was going to hold off a week or so more but I don't want to kick myself in the rear if a new ios version comes out and I'm stuck left behind on 6.1

Always fear this. Just today I dfu'd my 5s & set up as new. Gonna be very minimal just waiting for bitesms..

*Part of me wants to throw it off the porch and go get a new one with my AppleCare lol!

No need to hold yourself AJ, the jb itself is very smooth, better than most older releases. :)

I updated via software update and used evasi0n and it works fine. I was too lazy to do a restore. I wanted the jailbreak immediately! :p Guess it may be a results may vary scenario.

i also was going to wait a while on my iPhone 5 on 6.1 JB'ed until tweaks got updates but I just recently crossed over to iOS 7 and JB'ed.

i'm so torn between the 2 os's. half of me says "stay on iOS 6. trouble free, mostly up to date on app support, more class etc" and the other half says "update to iOS 7. fresh install, stable jailbreak, future proof (I'm getting the 8th gen iPhone for sure on launch day), and just update" this is a very hard decision. as of right now, i rely on cracked apps, and iOS 7 would be a way to ease away front that and actually purchase tetherme and file lol.

Same. On my second device I also forgot to disable my encrypted backup and pass code lock. Still worked fine.

Same situation with my iPad but I'm in the process of now updating. This was a hard decision since I love all my tweaks and my MIOS theme. I will wait patiently for them to be updated since I do not want to be stuck on IOS 6.

theres just something in my mind that makes a device seem more "cool" if it is on its original firmware generation. my iPad 3 is still on 5.1.1 and i doubt i'll ever update..

I was scared to update because I was very happy on 6.1.2, but Cydia substrate getting updated and knowing f.lux was already updated is really what pushed me to go ahead and update to 7.0.4 yesterday. Minus all the bright colorfulness, I am enjoying the new iOS quite a bit.

Only ran into a couple springboard crashes and that was installing crap in flex that I knew was for iOS 6, but I was hoping would still work for iOS 7. Stupid, I know, but it's all good now.

That's funny cause I'm the opposite. I love everything on the latest firmwares.

In my opinion, iOS 7 blows away any other iOS version. There are so many reasons but one of my favorites is the UI/UX effects like the fading in and out of apps/folders. Partallex is oretty sweet. But my most used feature is the edge screen, swipe back and swipe forward feature. Plus almost all the apps that I have used which have been updated for 7.x have also been updated to include this iOS 7 feature. I know there's a couple swipenav tweaks but the stock implementation is so much better.

Anyways, just food for thought.

In the process of jb 7.04 now. IntelliscreenX is the only app I really want updated and I know the team is really working hard to update it soon. It would be nice if Auxo and Zephyr gets some kind of makeover, waiting for that as well.

Also backed up shsh blobs if there is a need to go back.
