1st gen 5g... tech gets better over time. I have a feeling being an early 5g adapter is going to really show a year or two from now as the tech will rapidly advance and early devices won’t be able to tap into new capabilities.

People are asking why Apple didn’t do pro motion this year Since androids are doing them. From what I’ve read, Apple sources its oled displays from samsung(yes everyone knows this) and that Samsung didn’t have the scale that Apple needed since they sell tens of millions and Samsung only had enough batch for their phones. Promotion is on iPads but that’s lcd

Now that I think about it too, a bit more concerned since there was zero mention of battery life.

Coupled with the variable LTE / 5G switch off it could be disappointing...

And I wish there was audio improvements, speaker wise even though theyre already really impressive. Better is always better.

If Google is able to do OLED 90Hz and mmWave 5G for $699, I don’t see why Apple had to pick between the two.
What do you mean "able to do both"? I haven't checked their phone, but is it equallty thin? It's not difficult to have both if you have a fat phone. So saying "able to do both means nothing.

It's sad but basically apple had the panels for 120hz but not the amount for ltpo panels which helps with better life... Samsung couldn't source them with enough for demand and why it won't be til next year

I wonder if sales will drop now that most countries don't support the mmWave 5G so basically the rest will be getting LTE speeds with 5G iphones hmmm

That doesn't make any sense. Properly deployed, mid-band 5G exceeds 1Gbps. See below for examples from Bloomberg.

You can't use the U.S. as an example because it has one of the slowest 4G and 5G networks in the world.

The Pixel 5 is as thin as the iPhone 11 Pro. The iPhone 12 series has a smaller battery and is thinner.

Apple still having a notch on their phones in late 2020 is its biggest fail. Like really? I have a work provided Samsung Galaxy A10 that has a tiny hole punch for the camera and the phone only cost $200.

Think of the ears as bonus space above the notch line that allow you to see the time and status indicators without taking up any usable screen real estate. Bam, we've turned a curse into a blessing. The notch has never been a big deal.

I really don't understand the amount of hate this gets. Its the same people that wish for completely border less designs. There are areas I want to grab on my phone without invoking the formerly known 3D touch (can't remember what its called now) long press, or accidentally dropping my phone. I sometimes use the notch as a place to grab my phone depending on the angle.

Yep I agree. I would prefer to have the notch if a smaller camera compromises face ID in any way too.

I have quite a few qualms with the lineup:
  • No ProMotion
  • No TouchID in power button to work in combination with FaceID
  • Weird/frustrating pricing - Hidden extra $30 for unlocked non-Pro models, the 6.1" non-Pro 128GB being only ~$120 less than the 6.1" Pro
  • The weight of the Pro models
  • The delays in product releases - already announced a month late, and half of the lineup still has another month to go
  • Different features between the 6.1" and 6.7" Pro models
