Title says it all. Next version brings a calendar and optional push notifications (might have a very small charge for push to cover server costs). <3

EIDT: I didn't want to bother folks with another bump so I figured I'd just post the PUSH FAQ in the first post. We wrote it to answer your questions. Let us know if you need any more info. :)

Hi i am considering purchasing now, but when you say might have a charge for push, does that mean i will need to re-buy the app?

Nice app folks, great price.

Also, great guys, I met them standing in line for iPhone 3GS

Hey thanks. Was fun chatting it up in line for several hours, hah. :D

Right, so we literally mean that the application is on sale for 99 cents, but since Push requires us to host a server, we may charge 99 cents or 1.99 to cover our costs for that one feature. All other features in 1.5, 1.6 will be free. We have no immediate plans to charge for more features right now. We just can't afford to run the server at a loss, especially given the cost and effort it's taken to write the server software, secure it, etc. If we find that we can do it for free, we will but I simply can't promise that right now. I'll know for sure in the next day or two. Trust me though, the app is worth well over a buck given the feature set and time invested. Basic alerting is built in (you have to open BillMinder since we can't run in the background on iPhone) and works pretty well, so you don't have to buy push later, if it ends up costing. :)

last bump, sorry. we're raising the price very shortly tonight so pick this up if u want it now :)

Just picked this up, thanks for the discount. Push notifications would be great for this, and well worth paying a little extra for.

I would inform people ON iTUNES that you intend to charge for the v1.6 features, otherwise you're just another ***** developer bumping his app up there and then backhanding us with a charge, be it .99¢ or $1.99.

I thought push was on Apples servers, that sucks. I guess that's why I'm not seeing all applications with Push (like twitter).

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

For a buck, I couldn't pass it up. I'd be very interested in push, depending on price. But I can respect the charge, I know what push can do to a server.

Love the product.

well thanks. hopefully our implementation holds up. we can scale our server up if we have to, to accommodate it but hopefully it'll just work out as is.

I've been trying to download this app for a while today. Several times this afternoon, then another several this evening. iTunes says it's unavailable. Is it being updated, or is it something on my end?
( kinda new at this  )

thx

Dang, missed the $.99 sale, hopefully it will go on sale again some day.

I've been trying for quite a while and I'm getting the same error as LazyDaisy.

When I try to Buy, I get an error: "The purchase of this item is not currently available. The item is being modified. Please try again later."

Oh well. No sale for me :(

I was getting an error like others. For those customers that weren't able to purchase due to error's fault, can the developer still allow us to purchase this for .99?

yes that message happened because we changed the price. we'll lower it for another day so you guys can grab it. give it a few hours in itunes. going to change it back tomorrow night so please get it while you can.

WOW....thanks! I got it. I think this will be a really helpful app. I think the calendar view will be great... can't wait for that update!

thank you!
daisy

I purchased it as well! Thanks return7!

I guess sometimes being on the West Coast has it's issues with timing! :p

Hi return7,

I tried purchasing it but still 1.99. I thought the sale was extended for one more day (24 hours). I looked (appshopper.com) the price changed to .99 on June 25th, but it went back up to 1.99 on June 25th. It would have been nice if you give us 24 hours from June 25th, and then change it back on June 26th. I'll wait to purchase BillMinder when it goes back on sale for .99 (this should be the right price for everybody).

Thanks!

it's 99c right now so you can get it now if you want to. :) 99c is actually well below the time it took (and takes) to create, update, and maintain this app. we're just trying to give folks who missed out yesterday another chance at the price.

I bought BillMinder right away for 99c (after 2 days of trying). Thank you so much for lowering the price. It's an awesome app!!! I'll let you know if I encounter any issues or suggestions.

Our pleasure and thanks for being a customer. So you (and all the other wonderful folks here at MR) know, we've decided on $0.99USD per year for push notifications in BillMinder. All other features in 1.6 (we have no plans for other "premium" features at the moment -- that could change) and going forward in BillMinder 1.x will be free upgrades. This is the least we can charge (we know folks are trying their best to make it right now) -- hopefully it'll be enough to cover costs. :)

99 cents a year for push is very fair in my opinion.

Any ideas on exactly how it'll work? Will it push us a reminder that "bill x" is due in 3 days or something? Will it be a configurable setting (the # of days notice that is)? No matter how it's implemented, it'll be useful though.
