poor choice man. the BB pearl was rated one of the worst phones EVER. take it back, pay the 35 restock fee and get the curve. you will be much happier.

The Curve was an $90 upgrade fee, the pearl was free. I took the Pearl because I'll only have it for a few months until the next iPhone comes out (I'll at least wait til June and if no strong rumors exist I'll pull the trigger). I'm really tired of trying to figure things out, why can't everything just work?

Check you have the latest OS on it (there will be a sticky on the crackberry.com forums).

If still not liking it, get a curve, I upgraded from the pearl to a curve and it is much better. Bigger screen makes internet more normal too :)

So I ended up getting a BlackBerry Pearl as a free upgrade. I don't like it. This isn't easy to figure out, and the little scroll ball is meh on accuracy. Based on the talk of RIM's devices I was expecting a slightly more intuitive UI than this thing.

don't listen to anyone i had the verizon pearl and loved it and still love it. Only reason i got rid of it was to get the storm. Suretype is really good it just takes time to get used to it. Download opera mini for full html browser instead that crap rims calls a browser. :p The curve is nicer if you don't mind the size cause you get a bigger screen and a full keyboard. But its up to you and how much email/texting you do.
Head over to howard forums if you have problems/questions.

Keep the pearl since your going to get an iPhone soon.

Exactly. And hopefully the 4G iPhone will have multi-core processors, better resolution, thinner profile, be bendable, and have mind control as rumored. Or else I'm gonna be pissed and never buy anything Apple ever again.

Just to clarify, the next iPhone will still be a 3G device (2G or EDGE, and 3G or UMTS/HSDPA, refers to the type of data network the device can access). A 4G device would make no sense since no carriers in the US currently support it. So I doubt they would name it iPhone 4G, since it is not a 4G (network) iPhone and it is a 3rd generation iphone, not a 4th generation.

By the way, arent you going to have to pay the early cancellation fee from verizon since you recently extended your contract? If you do want the next generation iPhone, wouldnt it be better to return the Pearl and just wait it out for a few months? It would save you the upgrade fee and the termination fee.

Oh and AT&T's service isn't nearly as bad as people make it sound to be. In my family we have both Verizon and AT&T, and there is no distinguishable difference in terms of service, at least not where we live.

So today is my birthday and you want to know what I bought?

A Martin JC-16RE. Rosewood sides and Aura onboard pickup system. Cause you know what? Gadgets are just going to get outdated and I don't like talking on the phone anyway ;)

how much did ya pay?

Go with a Dare. Such a nice phone. Sure the browser isn't everything that Safari is, but I'll take speed over Safari any day.

But, alas, I have both a Dare and an iPod Touch.... sooo...... I would say the phone. Plus, throw in a 4GB SD card and you're set (drag and drop music, despite the "need for installation of rhapsody")
