Generally a watch is supposed to fit on your wrist "properly" if you can get one finger between the band and your wrist. I never liked watches that had to be worn very tightly - or even less when people wear them like bracelets and they basically keep swinging around the wrist.
With the :apple:Watch, you have to play with it - too loose and it will lose contact with your wrist and either not make readings properly and in some cases it will think it was take off and lock itself; too tightly and your fingers will turn blue! When I first got my Watch - I only had the Black Sports Band at the time - I had to go to the Apple Store to purchase Apple Care and the guy who was helping me (after getting over his jealousy that I got mine already and he didn't) asked how I liked it, and I mentioned that I was missing the tapping. He felt that I was wearing it too tightly. The way I took the picture with the Loop band is probably pretty close to the way I wear it with the SB.

The pic on the right looks as if you skin is bunched. That is why I ask.

On my SG Sport (42mm) I use the shorter band. For everyday I wear it on the 2nd notch, but when I work out I tighten to the 3rd.

I don't find the Sport band particularly comfortable (fine for workout). I also don't really like the looks w/the SG Watch. I have adapters and other bands on order.

I also use the Sports Band but on a 42mm SS but I originally had it in the 4th hole and now in the 5th after the Apple guy said it looked too tight.

. No complaints about the look or construction of it, just feel that when I have on the Sports band, the Watch feels much more comfortable. Don't know why?

I know why! You are wearing it FAR too tight!

exactly...you can loosen up this band quite a bit as the indentations of the leather reduce the movement, as well as how tight you make it. As it is infinitely variable, your natural reaction is to "grip it and rip it" when putting it on. Try loosening it one indentation at a time until it almost seems too loose. You will still get good fit, haptic actions, and no noise from the band. If the indentations are leaving marks on your skin, you are too tight, IMO

To me it feels the same "tightness" that as when I wear the sports band and my other watches. As I said you are supposed to be able to get one finger between the band and your wrist and I can do that easily for both. I think it is because the back of the sports band is smooth and the link bracelet is not.

I agree with the too tight comments. I just received mine yesterday and experienced the exact same thing. I loosened it and the results are much better, with time I think the break-in period will resolve the issue.

Does anyone here own only the Leather Loop and wear it for light workouts, let it get exposed to a little bit of water, etc.? How is it holding up?

I have a Space Gray Sport with Black Sport Band and am contemplating returning it for a SS with Black Leather Loop. I would enjoy the nicer looking watch.

My hesitation is that this combo is less versatile for some daily uses. I don't want to have to baby it too much, or swap bands too frequently.

For example, when I wake up I hit the elliptical for 20 min, then shower and go to work. I don't want to have to put a sport band on just for that quick workout, then switch again.

Seems like the LL should hold up in light abuse and a little bit of sweat or moisture as long as I don't soak it in water, but would like to hear from others that have done this. Obviously the LL has only been in people's hands for about a week so feedback will be limited but still helpful.

Can't really comment - I do change the bands from the leather loop to the sports band - but looking at it's construction I would assume that it should stand up to some sweat/moisture. Would not take a shower with it or even a really bad rain, but I would not do that with any good quality leather band either. I don't think you would have an issue on the elliptical - though I would assume you would take it off for the shower!

Id like the leather loop but my wrist size is 180mm should I get the medium or large band?

My wrist is 180mm and so based on the fact that I use the larger size for the sports bands I ordered the Large leather loop. It arrived today and I realise that I've made a mistake as the end of the strap very nearly reached the screen of the watch.

It is slightly annoying that for some reason the sizing on the leather loops is different to the sports bands that fit me perfectly.

Yes I should have consulted the chart more closely but now I have to figure out how to return and swap it for a smaller one.

I plumped for the medium in the end and now just waiting for the watch which should arrive tomorrow. Thinking I made the right choice with the medium. Thanks for all the input

The one thing that concerns me about the bands is that they may react similarly to apples leather cases for iphone. To some degree, i love the aged look, especially on the brown, but other colors and the dark patina developed doesnt look so good.

Anyone treat theirs with a leather waterproofing treatment?

How are you all measuring your wrist at home in order to get a size? Are you making the measuring tape tight or loose on your wrist when taking it? I am right at a 180 when measuring leaving a little slack. I am debating on the M or L leather loop. I am stationed overseas so trying it on before hand is out of the question and the return option is very lengthy. Thanks in advance.

If you are 180, you want a medium band. No questions about it it is not open for debate the large will be entirely too large at 180

I agree. I have the blue now, but would prefer a brown loop that has the patina of my brown iPhone 6 case. A watch band doesn't get "handled" like a phone so I'm not sure if it would happen. The light brown already looks quite a bit lighter to begin with. Maybe if you apply a conditioner it will darken.
