I don't need all of the "bloat" that comes with BiteSMS. I see it supports all kinds of texting plans for countries that have expensive SMS plans.

I just want an app that supports quick reply.

Any choices?

I've tried others for the same reason. I don't consider it bloat, its just more than I need since I only want the quick reply. I've tried Messages+ and one or two others, its been a while since I've tried, but I always end up back with BiteSMS. It just works better and every once in a hole I find something else with it I want to use.

BiteSMS is free. You'll never see the ads if your just going to use QR. The only time you'll ever see Ads if you open the app.

7.99 for ever is too much? I think I paid the 9.99 back in the days of my 3gs and still using the same license. Well worth the money IMO

BiteSMS is expensive... Alternatives?

Give Handcent a try. I loved using this on my Moto Droids and was very happy to see it come to iOS via jailbreak. Options galore, no ads, and free!

I find the adds bothersome too. I'm kinda in the same boat as the OP. I don't care about the tons of other features, and special "credits" for texting international, I just want an app that does Quickreply well. I'm not a huge fan of the pop up window that Bite uses for their quick reply, it feels very disconnected from iOS thematically.

As has been mentioned twice in this thread, you do not see the ads when using quick reply in Bitesms.

It's a quick reply, how many different ways are there to do it well?

Then it is good it is a quick reply. You don't have to look at its disconnected iOS theme for very long.

Correct, just use your regular app and use QR and QC.

Exactly what I do. I pulled the trigger on bitesms free trial version. Not exactly sure when I got it- but have yet to see one ad lol. I only wanted the quick reply. I went into the app day one- and not since then

You seem to be very helpful!

After all the worry about the bloat, i went ahead and bought BiteSMS. I use the Jaku theme, and BiteSMS now supports theming, so there ya go.

The only thing I really hate is the BiteSMS obsession with a pink icon.

Yeah I'm not sure what's up with that but it can be easily changed.

U can change this in the BiteSMS app itself. Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom and go to More Stuff

I have used literally EVERY text tweak in Cydia and while some have a lot of potential, none of them are as well integrated into iOS as BiteSMS. All of the other ones just seem clunky and not super well thought out. BiteSMS is the main reason I jailbreak actually.

Every build of it I find to perform better than the previous. Which is why I don't mind paying for it. Martin is all about making it the best he possibly can and constantly working on ways to improve it. Since the iOS 6 jailbreak has come out, he has pushed out BiteSMS 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and most recently 7.4, all in less than a month.

And as far as the other features that u don't have any use for or "bloat" as u are referring to it as, if u have no use for them then u don't have to use them. They won't affect u if u don't use them.
