So you have a $650-$850 phone and a $2,000 contract, but $8 is TOO EXPENSIVE?

In the USA, the companies subsidize the cost. So an iPhone here is only $200. And we don't pay the entire contract up front. It's over 24 months. In Canada, they often have three year contracts!

But as I posted above. I went ahead with BiteSMS. It's really the best Cydia SMS app.

Did you go in the settings on bite SMS and change the icon?

$250 iPhone 5; $800-950 yearly. Not sure what 3rd world country you are purchasing your iPhone and plan from - but your pricing is grossly inflated.

Also pricing is relative to the item you are purchasing. So if I purchase a vehicle for $80,000+.....it doesn't mean that the 22" specialty wheels (4) priced at $12K is "not expensive."

With that said, $8 for a stupid SMS app is overpriced no matter how much you spend for your device and your plan.

I'd have to disagree with bitesms beeing a stupid or overpriced app.
To many its one of the top reasons to jailbreak their iphone.
To me it makes my whole daily iphone experience better.

Agree'd. If you don't like it fine, but seems a bit silly to call it over priced if it's continually one of the most used apps, they are just playing it smart. This isn't a simple 99 cent app after all.

Amazing, BiteSMS offers exactly what the piracy justifiers whine and complain about, "If the developers would only offer a free trial, I wouldn't have to steal apps. WAAAAH. They're forcing me to steal. WAAAAAH."

BiteSMS offera a free trial, a free version and paid version and it's still not enough for 'people' like you.

EDIT: Now I understand why you have a bug up your butt about BiteSMS. Click Here.

I've known HickDead for a while and he's not "one of those people". You're judging someone based on one post?

I completely agree. But I do, however, completely disagree with his opinion on Bite.

I must admit though, every time this topic comes up, I'm starting to think my views on Bite are jaded. I always say its worth the money. But back when I bought Bite, there was no free version available. I had to pay the $7.99 or whatever it was and that was my only option. But now that there's a free version with every single feature available, maybe it's not worth $8 any more. I hardly ever go into the actual app. I only go into the actual app when I receive an image, video, or link. Outside of those rare moments, I strictly use QC and QR all dam day long. I would hardly ever see an ad. Maybe because a completely full and free version exists, Bite isn't "worth" $8 any more. Does that make sense? Either way, Bite is THE MAIN reason I jailbreak (and by default activator as well lol).

I'm like AppleJuiced, if I like an app I'll buy it not only because I like it but to also support the devs. I rarely use the Messaging app these days so I don't have much to say about it.

No, two posts.

How many times does someone have to call one of the better software development teams 'morons' before they become 'one of those people'?

Do you work or have stock in Delicious Inc? Are you their 'Online Protector' against those who speak bad against them?

I shared my own personal bad experience with the community because I felt that others needed to know about their shady business practice of trying to weasel out of a refund.

Go pimp biteSMS elsewhere.

----------

But you purchased it anyway?

Actually it was for my gf's iP5. It was her purchase which became MY problem. :D

Oh and let me share another thing about the brilliant biteSMS support team. So I emailed them regarding the safe-mode crashing when randomly replying via QR and this is the response I got back from them: " :-( "

Lol and we have some "kiddies" here defending them.

We're not pimping anything and we are not "kiddies" as you state. Just sharing experiences like you with years of positive use here.
I guess you cant make everyone happy. There's thousands or happy bitesms users but there's always going to be some that you cannot make happy no matter what.
Judging by their forum, amount of bugs they keep fixing, time, effort and updates they keep putting out they are working hard to fix every issue as fast as they can.
They are not like some of those devs that take your money, abandon their app and take off. Most likelly if you waited they would have fixed whatever issue you had or they would have told you if there's something else installed that conflicts with bite. All you had to do is stop by their forum if you really needed support instead. They have a list of packages that interfere and they cant fix or adjust someone elses work to be compatible with their app.
But anyway, just to state the obvious they are not morons, shady or anything else you're calling them. They are not the ones looking silly in this thread;)

"Morons" for replying to a technical support email with an sad emoticon. WTF is that?

"Shady" for not honoring their refund policy on their own website - which I had to fight it through PayPal due to them ignoring multiple email requests.

Got the refund in the end, so I'm a happy camper. My situation might have been in the minority but it still doesn't excuse the above mentioned behavior on their part.

Also Applejuiced, I wasn't referring to you as a kiddie. You're a respected member here who has always been helpful.

Look, if you have a problem, go to the BiteSMS community forum, Martin actually responds with better responses to crashes, bugs, and other stuff than the support team. I paid 8 bucks 2-3 years ago for my iPhone 4/3gs. Now using it for my iPhone 5 without any additional payment. Probably the best bucks I spent in the jail breaking community as this is my favorite application. It's well integrated vs any other messaging app out there, and customizable.

btw, BiteSMS is free, its just the other features and ads that cost 8 bucks. You're free to use it as long as you want... with ads and a bit of exclusion to it's full features.

Sucks to hear that you had an experience like that.
But still one of the best jb hacks out there IMO.
Glad you got your money though.

I only recently started using BiteSMS but it really blows the pants off the stock app. Just the Quick Reply and picture ID in the app was worth the paid version.

A lot of people use them but I've heard that their support is ****. Probably too busy reading and looking at all the pics everyone sends. People give away info so freely these days.

What, you think the people at BiteSMS see all the texts that are sent?

If so, great grasp of texting technology you have.
