How exactly do you unblock ports 6881-10000 do you do it through the router itself or through OS X????

Thanks,

SHadow
Both Some routers like mine have to have ports forwarded one at a time, but some can have the ports between [] and [] forwarded. I don't think it's fun to manually forward 3000+ ports. I just typed 6881, 6882, 6883, 6884, 6885, 6886, 6887 and 6888 all TCP. As well as any UDP ones Azureus requires.
Then to do it on your mac, it's sharing preferences->Firewall and you have to make a new one, call it BitTorrent or something and put the ports in that need to be forwarded and check the box. If you type (6881, 6888), you will get only those two ports, but if you type (6881-6888), you will get all of the ones between those numbers.
I hope that's helped.

Yes!

Transmission is the best BT client for OS X. Lightweight app with fast downloads. Simple yet powerful. Everything a OS X app should be...

Second that emotion....Transmission is the best...Azureus is wacky, so many options, it remindes me too much of a window$ app with all the overly complicated preferances..

Bits on Wheels takes up a lot of screen space, but the 3D swarm gui is cool looking..

to break it down...

Transmission=super easy, great GUI, takes up the least screen space (but it crashes if you are dl'ing a lot of torrents at the same time.)

Bits on Wheels=really stable, looks really cool, (inconsistant speeds though, and takes up a lot of screen space)

Azureus=Good speeds (if you are properly port forwarded) and fairly stable (complicated, and has too many features for me.)

Bit Torrent OSX=old faithful, always gets the job done, and is the most stable out of all of them IMO (resource hog, and the GUI can get cluttered)

Torrent Tomato=never tried it, heard good things...

A fellow eTree'er, I assime?

I saw Trey at the Warfield on Friday. He flat-out shook the joint. I just wish he'd quit playing songs from the old band. His new stuff is good enough to stand on it's own.
