I really hope this eventually becomes something of an OS X black kit. I love dark UI's, and would love to see all the finder bar etc black soon!

Are you copying it out of the disk image and unmounting it?

Did you reboot or at least type "sudo killall loginwindow" into terminal?

It is not supposed to turn the login screen black. just the windows pictured in this thread and on the linked page.

Black background with white text is easier on the eyes. I looked at finder and did not see a way to make it black. I could not find the nib file for the main window. If you want to look you can. If you find it for me tell me which nib file it is.

Just run the shell scripts in the new version of the disk image. It should be working now.

Strange. It works fine for me. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it without problems. Can you post screenshots?

Are you running the shell script at the root of the disk image?

I will try installing 10.5 on an external HD and seeing if it works there tomorrow

I just tested it again and it works. If you get errors post screenshots.

If you are running it from automator you will not get it to work. It must be run as root hence the shell scripts.

When you open the disk image you see this right: (look at first attachment)

You are clicking on the install icon that looks like the second attachment

I have uninstalled and reinstalled it repeatedly and it works.

I even re-uploaded it and it and downloaded it and it works

download from his site, open the dmg to mount it, open automator, select existing workflow, go to the mounted drive, select the installer.

Only problem i had was it didnt install hahah, might be the way i was doing it but theres how to actually run the installer

Again just run the shell scripts at the root of the disk image.

OK, this is what I am doing:

- Download
- Run the install from the new DMG you uploaded
- Terminal pops up, enter password
- Terminal says complete
- Exit Terminal
- Restart Mac
- Check and the about this mac window is still normal :S

Did you wait for the automator icon in the dock to go away?

Now there is a delay before terminal says it is done that is long enough to allow it to install.

Yes - once terminal says complete, its ok just to quit terminal right?

Yes you can quit terminal now.

Try re-downloading it. I just updated it

i do not have to reboot but if it does not work you can try rebooting. It was saying it was done before it was done before.

The upload had a error so you might want to try again. Also do not reboot as soon as it says it is done. Wait a little bit.

I am in the process of making a video with install instructions in case you are installing it wrong. It also proves the installer works for me.
