Got the 10.5 after having the 9.7 back in January and realizing how much of a difference the Pro was over previous IPads we had.

The thing is a beast and use it daily more than I thought. Best purchase made in a while, for value.
If they ever updated theMini to Pro-like specs I wouldn’t hesitate.

This iPad has far exceeded all of my expectations. I upgraded from an Air 2 thinking it would mostly be a waste of money, and I expected to return it. I was totally wrong. With iOS 11, this is the most fluid and fun-to-use machine I've ever used. It reminds me of the joy I had with the Palm Pre multitasking gestures back in the day. I thought the Air 2 was a pinnacle of processing power, but even on beta software, the Pro with iOS 11 is an entirely new beast. The pencil writes a little too smoothly for my taste, but other than that, I just came to say that the new Pros are amazing and you should buy one immediately if you've been thinking about it.
To bad iOS 11 isn't even out yet wuu2

Since I got my iPad Pro 12.9 last week, my Macbook Pro and X1 are sitting in the dust.
I got all the acceseries in a decent price. Swapped my free BeatsX with someone for her new apple pencil.
Bought a brand new smart cover from kijiji for $30.
Installed SupershieldZ Matt screen protector and Dbrand back protector.

I upgraded to the IPP 10.5 from Mini 3 . I love it and am anxiously waiting for iOS 11...
But I'm keeping the mini for when I travel , the size is perfect . I just wonder if I'll put iOS 11 on it or not . What do you think ? Will it slow it down ?

Seconded. I hadn't upgraded for years (was running a 3.5 year old iPad Air and a 2.5 year old iPad Mini) and felt a new iPad was long overdue so I got the 10.5" Pro 256GB WiFi. Wasn't expecting any miracles, but it turned out to be the greatest leap forward I've ever experienced going from one iOS device (or Mac) to a new one. It just screams in every conceivable department. The display... the colors are so vivid. The brights are so bright. The black is so black. Scrolling with ProMotion is so fast and fluid I'd probably get carsick if I wasn't so distracted by how great it looks. It feels less like an iPad and more like some imaginary holographic display in a movie set in 2039. In 10 years it will probably be in a museum next to the Ford Model T, but in the meantime I'm gonna have a ton of fun.

I installed the public beta on a Mini 2 16 GB. It's no faster or slower than it was with iOS 10, and storage wise it freed up 2+ GB, so you won't be disappointed.

So far I have not seen one bad review of the 10.5 iPad Pro, even from the usual Apple haters, I've had mine a few days and it 'just works' perfectly and with unusually high performance. I also have a 12.9 and 9.7 pro (old versions) and going back to them they appear less responsive and the display frame rate looks worse. I'm going to sell my 9.7 inch one soon and keep the 10.5. I had a hard time deciding between the 10.5 and the 12.9 new one but I know I'll use the 10.5 more and the 12.9 would spend more time on a stand on the desk and turn into a little PC.

Just received my 12.9 Pro. Wow.

Compared to my 3 year old Air 2? There is no comparison.

I toyed with it for about 5 hours last night and even watched a movie on it. The screen... the sound... just amazing.

I have a desktop gaming PC and an iPhone... I bought the Pro wanting it to be a laptop substitute and I think it will do a fine job.

Quite possibly my last tablet! Impressive piece of hardware!

You guys are killing me. I really dont want to upgrade right now but since I have the Air 1 I suspect my upgrade experience will be even better than some of you that are coming from an Air 2 or the 1st 9.7 pro. Damn you all to hell! :D
I came from an Air 1, not the 2. I knew it was getting old, but I didn't realize how much iPads had advanced. Feels like only yesterday that I ditched the obese iPad 3 for a slick Air. I thought "eh, I can put up with some laggy graphics here and there, or the RAM shortage that makes Safari forget web pages if I hop over to another app for a second". It was only after unboxing the Pro 10.5 that the full impact hit me. I had been stuck with a 386 in the age of Pentium-M.

The only delays you'll experience on a 2017 iPad Pro will be due to the internet failing to feed it content fast enough. Everything that relies on the internals alone is instantaneous and appears the split second you tap on it, smooth as silk. In fact, this morning my 10.5" actually invented time travel. A push notification came up, and in the upper right corner where the timestamp is, it said (in Swedish) "Om 1 m" (In 1 minute) instead of the usual "nu" (now)!

(Yeah, I realize it's just a glitch/bug... it was still hilarious to see it).

I've had the 10.5 since launch day but just got IOS11 yesterday when it was officially released OTA... All I can say is wow!!!! I'm loving the new IOS!!!! I was very happy with the Pro 10.5 before the upgrade but now I'm REALLY loving this thing! IOS11 completes the package for me. More than I thought it would. :)

Not to worry: I put 11 on a iPad Mini 2, been enjoying the iOS in general and have had zero problems once I ditched a bunch of apps w/o 32bit updates. Love the iOS, just annoyed at having to lose a few favorite apps. I'll get over it once amnesia replaces their absence LOL. Maybe I'll scout around for alternatives. Downloading from the App Store over WiFi for each iOS device (vs via iTunes 12.6 when the App Store was still integrated) is unappealing to me though, so I may just settle for the amnesia and run lean on apps going forward.

But the big deal for me is I'm finally upgrading my "regular" iPad hardware: going to order a 10.5 iPad Pro and when it arrives I'll be retiring my iPad 4th gen to serving up recipes (from a couple of 32bit apps that have not been updated by devs) and otherwise playing purchased music and movies only.

I was going to get a refurb 9.7 Pro from Apple (my preference for buying Apple gear is go for refurbs) and that alone would have been an amazing upgrade from a iPad 4th gen, but the specs on the 10.5 were too hard to resist. I'm really psyched about this upgrade to iPad 10.5, I have put it off a couple times to get other stuff first (an iPhone SE to replace a 5C, and a spare mid-2012 MBP because I love their ports and they're tanks).

Yeah, it’s great! I’ve been on it with beta 2 and no way I could go back to iOS 10.

Agree with the comments above. Finally got my 10.5 a couple of days ago and downloaded iOS 11 quite a change from my iPad 3. I really miss the favourites bar in Safari though so how do you access other favourite websites from an open Safari page guys?

Not sure what u mean... I am able to view and access my favorites from the little bookmarks icon on the top of the screen in safari as always. It looks like a little book icon. Only shows when the top bar is present though. Its to the left of the address bar.

OK, yes I know about that book icon used for editing etc but there used to be a bar across the full page directly under that area with your favourites in them so that you didn’t have to close the page or take so many steps to open another page from favourites. Hope that clarifies it. Just seems clumsy from the previous version.

Is there no option to enable the Favorites Bar in Settings - Safari? I think the beta had that option.

Bugger! I looked three times there and couldn’t see the forest for the trees. I know I’m getting old and deaf so I can now add blind to the list too. I guess I expected it to be a default setting.

Thank you VERY much for your help rui no onna I really appreciate it. What would we do without forums to help us out.

I saw the 10.5" at Best Buy and touched the screen a few times. Believe it or not, that was enough to convince me that it was a worthy upgrade from my Air 2. And I really loved the Air 2!

Air 2 doesn’t support AR apps.
