Weird semi-fix for my new m1 mac mini for third party mouse. It's not perfect but its as close as I've been able to get.

I have my MX keyboard linked via bluetooth (no problem there.)
I have my MX3 mouse linked via unifying device plugged directly into the usb mini.

I hate taking up one of the two ports for something so stupid but I do have a usb hub plugged into the other usb port.

When the CPU is really cranking, (closing editing software etc.) I get some stuttering but thankfully its not a common occurrence. It's still not acceptable but it will work till a hotfix.

Anyone else having bluetooth issues with their new M1 macbook Air? My bluetooth mouse stutters as it moves around. And yesterday my airpods automatically joined but then caused issues with my bluetooth keyboard.
I am having bluetooth issues with my 2020 Intel iMac running Big Sur. My Magic Track pad stutters. I was directly connecting it for a while, then I discovered that turning it off and then on again fixes the issue.

These problems with BT are not specific to M1 Macs, right? I think many people are having these with Intel Macs too
I've experienced BT issues with every Mac I've ever owned, but it seems to be happening more frequently with the M1 versions.

Wow - Really?

That totally sucks.
I'm honestly not sure I'd be a Mac user after all these years if that were true for me.

BT issues can be really really frustrating and experience killing if it's for input devices.

Got my Macbook Pro M1 a few weeks ago. Now I have had a Bose QC 35 headset and a Sony WH-1000XM4 connected to it. And it connects fine and also mostly runs the connection fine but sometimes music stutters for less than a second and then continues playing like normal. Would this issue also be M1/Big Sur related? Hopefully my bluetooth module in the M1 is not defective? :(

Thankfully I haven’t experienced any issues with the handful of BT devices I’ve been using. But there’s clearly something amiss when I’ve been reading so many complaints about problems.

One of the most important things, for anyone who does experience a problem - other than trying to resolve it. Is to report it to Apple.

While there’s a good chance they are aware of problems, there are so many variables involved that the more people who supply them with information, the better chance we have of getting a full resolution...... He said, stating the obvious ;)

Thats very true. Would it be best to just call apple support, or open a topic on their community forums or something? I don't think they have a specific webpage for reporting issues or something like that lol

Best bet is to go directly to their macOS feedback page, to report the issue in detail.

Beyond that, it certainly doesn’t hurt to chat to support, though you’re unlikely to get any kind of resolution at this point.

This page is the jumping off point for reporting any issues to Apple for hardware or software, for any of their products.

I had this problem but I fixed it with the hidden Bluetooth menu items. Hold shift-option when selecting the Bluetooth menu bar extra menu. You'll see a menu item "Reset the Bluetooth module". Choose this and everything disconnected but when I reconnected the devices, my Magic Trackpad 2 stopped being jittery. It worked for me, YMMV.

Same. New m1 Mac mini, 16gb. Mx3 master mouse.

consistent stuttering connected with Bluetooth, often associated with cpu load. Have yet to find any solution.

Weirdly enough, same thing happens with usb attachment too.
I found out that using a USB extension cable helps. I tried connecting my mouse via bluetooth -> stuttering. Then I plugged the USB receiver into the USB-A port -> stuttering (maybe a little less than BT). Now I use an extension cable from USB-A port away from the Mac mini and it works fine.

I know this problem from Windows. If you use more than one USB 3.0 port the connection gets pretty bad.

Hope that helps for you. I know it's an ugly compromise, but a cheap one and hopefully Apple can fix the bluetooth problem soon.

Whoa! This is crazy but makes sense. Thanks for the idea! I’ll give it a try.

Dude. :) You're a genius. Immediate fix. I've been searching for a fix and trying a ton of stuff for weeks and this is the ONLY thing thats worked. I agree it's not the most elegant solution but at this point I don't care- I gotta get work done! Thanks again!

Thank you jdb8167
That worked for me! I upgraded to Big Sur x.2 on my 2016 MBP 15 last night. I then deleted my Keychron K1 and MX master and re added them. The issues with the mouse happened twice in the last few hours where it would just randomly disconnect and was a little jerky. I did your reset and it's a lot smoother. The keyboard was okay but the MX was randomly losing the connection even though it's right next to the deck.
