My apple bluetooth keyboard works fine in XP, except for the eject key. This is a problem as I can't install programs that have a multi-disk install routine.
your keyboard works in XP?, i just checked the guide of Bootcamp in the Apple website saying that the Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse are not supported in XP. how did you do it?

My Apple bluetooth keyboard & mouse work just fine in XP. I didn't have to do anything special. It does take a few seconds after XP boots for the devices to become active, though.

You will need a USB keyboard during installation, though.

Guys i know that everyone is yelling that the install does not support the bluetooth keyboard and mouse, I have everything installed and the kb/mouse work within windows.

My issue is that when i hold the alt/option key it is not allowing me to select a drive, it just boots windows. I know i can plug in a wired keyboard and that works. However my question is this....

Is there a config file or something i can edit so that the drive choice is shown everytime i boot the machine? It would be better than hanging onto a wired keyboard at my desk when it shouldnt be necessary.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joseph Crawford

Logitech Bluetooth Mx 5000 Keyboard

I've got a Logitech Bluetooth 1000 mouse and 5000 keyboard. The mouse works fine under both Xp and OSX, and the keyboard works fine under Xp. Under OSX, the keyboard is recognized, paired and says it is connected properly, but after putting in the passkey, the keyboard is not recognizable. I think the problem may be that the first time I connected and it asked me to hit the key to the right of the left shift key, that I hit the key on the on the right side.
Since then I've tried reconnecting numerous times, zapping the pram, and even re-installing OSX, but to know avail. It seems to have that setting locked in somewhere and I can't get the keyboard to be recognized properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm using a MacBook Pro 2.13 Mhz with 2 Gigs of RAM.

ok, here's one that's got me baffled.

i have an imac with the bluetooth KB/M combo. looks great, works great in leopard, love it. i knew i was getting into dicey territory trying to do bootcamp with them, but i figured eh, what the hey give it a shot, worst case i cancel the install and get a usb kb/m, right?

so i get into the vista setup (BTW, you apparently can't do bootcamp with XP if your HD is bigger than 120Gb, learned that the hard way), and lo and behold, the KB works like a charm! i had to scrounge around and find a mouse, but the install went smooth as could be, everything including setting the login password.

so the install finishes, and when vista boots up for real for the first time, the KB is DOA. tried the discover botton, waited 30-60 seconds, heck, even took the batteries out and put 'em back. nothing. nada. and of course, no way to enter the password and get into the control panel. i even tried clicking the (old usb) mouse button repeatedly and banging it violently on the desk several times. thought for sure that'd do the trick.

i can bring a keyboard home from work on tuesday, but i was really hoping to get in some good Oblivion time with the long weekend. oh well, the tragedies of life.

i gess if anybody had any bright ideas (other than not going into the install without a usb kb handy) that's cool, but mostly i was just amused that my problem's basically the opposite of the expected limitations.

Here Is How I Fixed It

Leopard 10.5, Windows XP SP2, Bluetooth Keyboard (the mini one w/o the keypad)

After installing bootcamp, load the "Bluetooth Devices." It should be in the bottom right corner of the screen, or go to Start-Control Panel-Bluetooth Devices.

First, select the tab "Options" and check the box that says "Turn Discovery On."

Second, select the tab "Devices" and click the button "Add..."

Third, in the new box titled "Add Bluetooth Device Wizard" check the box that says "My device is set up and ready to be found." Click the button "Next >"

Fourth, the flashlight will search. Power on your bluetooth keyboard at this point. An icon should appear titled, "User's keyboard, New device" (Note, you will have to have your bluetooth device working in OS X.) If it does not, power on the keyboard after the search is completed and it will appear after a few seconds. Select the icon and click next.

Fifth,a box will ask "Do you need a passkey to add your device?" You can use one if you want, but I selected the button "Don't use a passkey". Click "Next >"

Sixth, Windows will attempt to connect to your keyboard. This all happens within 2-3 seconds but its crucial so bear with me. Assuming you did not select a passkey, two lines of text will appear:

Connecting...
Installing Bluetooth Device...

If both of these go smoothly and a box will pop up saying "Completing the Add Bluetooth Device Wizard." Click "Finish."
(If it does not, however, a box will appear saying that it was unable to connect. This is because your keyboard was not powered on. If this happens, start over and make sure your keyboard is powered on.)

Finally, under the tab "Devices" select the icon that says "User's keyboard No passkey Connected" and click "Properties." Under the tab "Services," a flashlight will search and a button will appear that says "Drivers for keyboard, mice, etc (HID)". Check this button and click "OK."

After a few seconds, your keyboard should work. Hope this helps!

XPIII is not holding my wireless apple keyboard even the Apple manual says it does. I am just installing everything in a brand new mac mini, the apple wireless mouse sometimes works but the keyboard doesn't. Is frustarting because I've got this configuration of mac mini and wireless k/m for a reason.

The problem I am having is that XP recognizes the keyboard but the keyboard light still blinking showing it hasn't been discovered yet, so I am typing and nothing happens... but on XP the keyboard shows discovered. On OSX everything works just fine.

Frustrating...
