Blurry Font on External Monitor Samsung Curved Monitor C34H892 34" FreeSync WQHD 3440x1440 MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)
have tried all the settings which can found on internet

1) tried DisplayMenu APP
2)tried EasyRes APP
3)tried ResolutionTab
4)Tried SwitchResX (seems be HiDPI issue, but can not get full screen running)

You need to tell us how you're connecting the monitor to the MacBook Pro. Which port are you using from your MacBook Pro and input port on the monitor. And which type cable and or adapter?

I connect via type-c port, have tried the display port on monitor(through adaptor)

also tested on my old macbook pro (2014, 15") via HDMI cable, also got blurry fonts, my current one is a old VIEWSONIC VX3209-2K, dont have blurry fonts(but not as good result as windows does)

People for some reason do seem to forget one big thing about this. APPLE has removed AAA sub-pixel font smoothing from Mojave and Up. The blur you see is because of that. So blame Apple for removing when Windows / Linux has it and it works fine.

Do you mind explaining this? So I know what not to purchase in the future. Does external screens need to have the same resolution as the computer? Or are all external screens bad nowadays?

Any 4K monitor will work fine. MacOS will treat these as retina displays just like the built-in display.

Is it a VA panel? I had bad experiences with every VA monitor

Newer 4k displays from all sorts of vendors work well (and even QHD 2650 x 1440 ones too...).

Two things to try:

Test with an Apple USB-C Digital AV multiport adapter connected via HDMI and see if the results are any better than USB-C cable that came with your display.

Only other thing that may be helpful is changing the weight of the fonts... (see the bottom part of this article that describes adjusting font smoothing settings).

is anyone can recommend a list of 34" which is compatible? or any 4K will work?

it could be tied to the color configuration as was the case with me. This is what I did for a Dell monitor. Once I fixed this, my text was crisp and smooth.

Maybe search the web for ‘Samsung monitor RGB Mac’ Or something like that.

Include a screenshot of the displays preference pane showing the resolution etc the screen is running at

also maybe include a cell phone picture of the problem

otherwise we are all just guessing...

For me the issue is with M1 macbook pro and this seems to help a bit: https://ahmadawais.com/fix-macos-mojave-font-rendering-issue/ suggests putting the following in terminal: defaults write -g CGFontRenderingFontSmoothingDisabled -bool FALSE which apparently re-enables font smoothing.

Also (for my m1 and monitor combination) purchasing a usb-c to 8k displayport cable helped a bit.

Last, but not least, on my LG LG 35WN65C-B 35'' Curved UltraWide QHD the following seemed to have an impact:
Picture->Picture Adjust->Sharpness->100
Picture->Picture Adjust->Super Resolution+->Off
Picture->Picture Adjust->DFC Off (not sure if this makes a big difference with font smoothing enabled, seemed to matter more before then)
General->SMART ENERGY SAVINGS->Off(not sure if this makes a big difference with font smoothing enabled, seemed to matter more before then)

It's better, but honestly I think it still looks pretty meh.

This is particularly annoying since:
  1. Apple said they would fix this in 2020 and still has not
  2. Windows fonts looks quite lovely on the same monitor (I suspect linux does too)
  3. We have a 5k intel Imac that would be perfect as a monitor while when we replace it with apple silicon except Apple no longer allows it to be used as an external monitor.
I will likely return the ultrawide, get a more compact (and for some reason more expensive) 4k (24" or 27"), and nurture a simmering frustration towards apple product management at the stupidity of some of their decisions.

Anyway, I hope the above helps someone :).

If you are using a TV for a monitor, I have the fix. Go into your "sources" list in your TV and change the name of the source to "TV" which should be a listed option. This instantly fixed all blurry issues.

Turn off monitor game mode.
Turn off Samsung Magic Bright.
That fixed it for me with Samsung c34J79 with M1 air
