I know this is an old post, but in case anybody else runs into this issue: it's most likely that the "blurriness" you're experiencing is due to Apple dropping support for sub-pixel anti-aliasing on monitors w/less than 4K resolution. To fix this, get BetterDisplay (free version, you don't need the Pro).


Then follow the instructions here to enable fully scalable HiDPI desktops on sub-4K monitors:


After you've set it up via the instructions above and rebooted, use BetterDisplay to set a scaling factor on your monitor. I have a an LG DualUp monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 2880. Setting my scaling factor around 80% gives me a very sharp, crisp display.

Another benefit to BetterDisplay is that it will let you control the brightness and volume settings of many 3rd party monitors using your Mac's built-in brightness and volume keyboard shortcuts.
