I love my bookarc, but I was hoping for a rubber insert to use the macbook air in the bookarc I already have. They want another $40? Don't think so.

Did you ask them? I think there is supposed to be another insert as well.

they do offer an insert for the pre 2010 shaped 13" mba wich sadly won't fit the new 11" and 13" models :(

It does work with both the 11" and 13" Airs, but it is just a little loose and of course much larger than necessary (hence the new smaller one). The new Airs sit slightly tilted in the old BookArc with the optional original Air insert.

Well ... of course it will "fit"! Just not optimally, as the new Air is smaller than the old one.

I am sure 12South would like to sell you a new one.;) I may get one just for the reduced size.

Yes but prior to the new page coming up they said something about a new insert. I'm not sure if that is still happening since I see no mention of it now.

Since I have a mbp as well, I'd rather not have to buy two bookarcs.
I'd just like the new insert, as I thought was what they were doing.

Received my new BookArc Air today and it is very nice. Everything downsized from the original to match the diminutive Air in scale. It holds the air gently but firmly in a perfect upright position. The Air easily lifts out by slightly tilting it forward as you lift it up. Very well done!

A bit of a fashionable gimmick, but pretty non-the-less for those who want to keep their desk tidy... I could see myself buying it LOL :p
