I don't think you got your message out, better start a third thread.

Such a silly little man in so many ways.

I have some advice for those who don't want one, think it costs too much, or don't like it in some way or other.

Don't buy one.

it's upside down

The pics on the website show the Air fan-side down. This is less than ideal for heat management but obviously was necessary in the stand design in order to get a good grip on the fat end of the Air - with an added benefit of having cleaner cable management.

I guess this is less of an issue than on a hot-ass MBP but still seems less than ideal.

They've always been like that. I've had my macbook pro on a bookarc for over a year with no problems. The vent may be at the bottom, but since the whole bottom of the computer is raised and exposed to the air, it can dissipate the heat fine.

No. You've always been able to put MBP's in either fan up or down as the thickness is uniform in all other models. Placing the vent up results in slightly lower fan speeds all else being equal. Probably not an issue for most usages.

Typical worry over nothing. Mine sits in one all day, with never a fan coming on. Apple sells the thing in their stores! Heat finds an outlet and move towards it and out.

What? I was saying its suboptimal is all - at high temps your fan will run faster. I'm not saying worry over it. Read the text. And, yes, your fan does come on. It is always on 2000 rpm.

Received my new BookArc Air today and it is very nice. Everything downsized from the original to match the diminutive Air in scale. It holds the air gently but firmly in a perfect upright position. The Air easily lifts out by slightly tilting it forward as you lift it up. Very well done!

I prefer mine level on the table and open, not stood up like some cheapo scanner.

this product being advertised here seems like a numb-nuts unnecessary add-on to me
I have to say I'm inclined to agree with this (all but the being open anyway, clamshell mode is fine). I just don't see the fuss/need/advantages myself.

This thing again....

Uggh - I fail to see the need for this thing. Let's go to the marketing points:

Provides a cleaner, less cluttered workspace
Sure if you believe more crap on your desktop == less clutter. I look at this as as more clutter. Are you really getting more efficient use of space here? My 11" MBA has a pretty small footprint as it is. If you work in clamshell mode, you can actually shove it under the monitor. Try it! If, however, you stand this up, you need to stick it far enough away so that it doesn't block you from viewing your monitor. (Which is kind of ironic, as the marketing image does just that! Don't worry about looking at the bottom corner of your screen, there's nothing useful going on down there anyway)

Includes Cable Management for Power, Monitor, USB, etc.
Who wants to have wires sticking out of your laptop while its standing straight up in the air? Sure, they may loop back into the stand, but it looks like a@@. Clean? There's nothing clean about it. If you want to make a useful product, make some kind of dock that somehow incorporates the power connector and video out, but of course, that would have required real engineering...

Improves MacBook performance when using external monitor
Unsubstantiated claim... How exactly does this happen? Does gravity in some way increase the processing speed on my MBA? I think this thread actually shows this device may actually block airflow on your MBA, which to me is harming performance.

This is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own - so please don't tell not to buy one - I already haven't. I'll gladly spend money on a Apple peripheral that does something useful - like an iRig.

I would have also laid of the sarcasm a bit if someone hadn't just posted a press release in the forum. To me, it seems like a weak attempt at viral advertising.
