They've spent years expanding their service to multiple platforms, and pushing steamplay support....

That was all before they had their own OS.

This is an entirely different ballgame.

If they turn around and say 'just kidding' with their goal of being platform neutral, they're not going to make any friends in the gaming community.

There entire push for steamplay was based on not needing to have a particular OS, and you can play their games on whatever system you want.

To backtrack on this would be suicide.
