If the issues is related to a specific GPU then that's a hardware issue. Unless the whole system is having graphical errors then its not really Apple's fault that a game can't run under an update.

Also, Yosemite is definitely far from being ready for stable regular use. Thats why it a developer preview and they even say themselves to not use it as a main OS. They have the upcoming public beta for people who just want to day/do vigilante bug squashing.

In a situation like this, all you can do is tell the developer and hope it gets fixed. You can't really do anything else about it.

And that's exactly why it's okay to ask questions like the OP did- to determine whether or not it's an issue related to the combination of his specific hardware and Yosemite. Maybe people with other hardware configurations don't have the same issue? Either way, I'm pretty sure the OP knows that the issue won't be fixed until after Yosemite is officially released.

For some people like myself, Yosemite has been ready for stable regular use since DP1. The worst issue I have faced is Safari crashing on occasion, which is completely acceptable being that it's a developer preview. I have had no other issues, and it runs great. Still, I know that I use Yosemite at my own risk, and I have backups in case things do go wrong at some point down the line.

I both agree and disagree with you. I agree that questions are always welcome, but the (unrealistic) expectation is that only developers are going to be using the software and testing their apps. There's a reason why Apple is doing a public beta - they recognize that people want to try the OS pre-launch because they can't wait to get their hands on it.

Of course discussing bugs and issues in the developer previews and the iOS betas are encouraged, but the expectation is not frivolous things like "My game isn't working". Most people get annoyed at the fact that people are flooding forums with simple topics that obviously show they aren't a developer. For me yeah, sometimes it does get annoying. If you're using a developer preview and you're confused as to why your video game isn't running, chances are you aren't using the developer preview for its purpose, which pisses a lot of users off. There are definitely people who take it overboard (and I admit I too have gone overboard in the past), but really the discussion isn't for trying to figure why x game won't play properly or why x app is crashing every 5 minutes. It's an expectation held by some. Combine that with posts that are becoming more and more aggressive in their responses and introductions (not this one, but there are several, especially in the iOS 8 forums) and you just get a big mess.

I definitely understand where you're coming from. My tolerance level is much higher for this kind of thing, I suppose. I only get annoyed when people become whiny and expect everything to work well on beta operating systems. I'm willing to bet that a very small percentage of the MacRumors users that have either Yosemite or iOS 8 installed are developers. I don't think it's reasonable to expect that non-developers won't ask questions that only non-developers would ask, but it is most certainly reasonable to expect that anybody posting here understands that they have no right to expect anything to work perfectly, and any data loss is their own fault. But I don't have a problem with people asking questions that pertain to their own personal, non-developing usage.

Anyone played Borderlands 2 on Yosemite? I'm running it on a 2012 retina MBP with an i7, 8gb ram and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1 GB vram. The game seems sluggish and it doesn't seem to properly load the textures. Also, there are no shadows at all. Just curious to see if anyone else has this problem.

Borderlands 2 runs fine on Yosemite (2013 iMac, 3.5 i7, 32GB, GTX 780M).

I'm not sure anyone else actually answered this question... ;)

I've been getting crashes ever since I started playing with the public beta. It doesn't crash immediately - seems to take about 10-15 minutes. Under 10.9 I don't have this problem - my friend and I can play for a few hours without me crashing out.

The PreSequel seems to crash in the same way, but given that it seems to use the Borderlands 2 engine that shouldn't be a surprise.

Using MacPro4,1 & GTX680. Both nvidia web & default OSX driver seem to crash.

Anyone else notice problems?
