After trying to restore multiple times I have yet to have a success . If someone would be able to assist me it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you got an original SIM yet? Its all very well and good asking for advice but we've already told you that you need a SIM from the original carrier to be able to activate the device.

Go to Sprint and get a SIM, then try activating again.

Ok , I will have to see if I can get one. & does the sim have to be active?

When I had to use a sim to activate my phone over a year ago, at the time the sim did not have to be activated with the carrier to activate the phone. I don't ever remember reading or hearing anything that would indicate this has changed.

Thanks for the help , I found my Sprint sim and I got it activated but when i reinstalled my Gevey Sim the same message came back up.

If you're using Gevey to unlock you'll always have this issue, as 6.X.X is not supported by Gevey as of yet. You're down to a glorified iPod Touch now.

would I be able to downgrade it back to iOS 5.1.1 ?

It's not a question of iOS version, it is a question of the baseband, or Modem Firmware that your phone has. Since it is now on iOS 6.1, you'll likely have the newest baseband, thus making your iPhone unable to be unloacked via Gevey SIM. You'll need to IMEI unlock or wait for the newest Gevey Version, if there is one.

would the IMEI unlock work for the Sprint iPhone 4s though? & What would it cost?

Not sure and not sure. I would search this forum for another imei unlock thread and see if any sprint customers have luck unlocking theirs.

Ok, I've also heard about the R-Sim unlocking the Sprint iPhone 4s on iOS 6.1 . Do you think that is real?
