I cant believe what I just read, thats appalling. I have only just joined the forum cos I need to repair my broken iPhone so I am glad I stumbled across this thread.
Funny thing is I was just looking on that pdasmart the other day - but after reading this story pdasmart can f*** off. So big props to the original poster for making this thread, otherwise I could have been stuck with the same crap the he has had to go through. I know if that happened to me I would be screaming down the phone and calling every lawyer in the phone book. Based on your story I hope you really get your own back on that company as that is just plain wrong, especially publishing personal information like that. Anyway If anyone knows of a safe place to get a new screen preferably near Newcastle / UK please post a link.

Interesting. I'm thinking of buying an iPhone and was looking into options should it be dropped as I tend to clumisly launch these kind of things down stairs/under cars etc.

OP: Thank-you very much, you could well have saved me a lot of hassle. I'll steer well clear of this joke of a 'business".

I wanted to give you guys a news update.
(I hope I am not boring you guys)

This last week I was contacted by BBB who started to mediate between
myself and pdasmart.com. Through BBB pdasmart offered me a
much lower offer than actual costs caused, stating this was his final offer
and also added a bunch of clauses such as payment after receiving the
phone, as well as myself having to retract my story on any said forums
etc and to "make good".

I chose to not accept the offer as it was lower than actual cost and I didnt
trust the person who I was dealing with based on past experience and the
fact they would pay me after receiving the phone just sounded too sketchy.

The weekend arrived and I was away from my computer.

During the said weekend (May 2nd) I was emailed directly from
pdasmart.com (outside of BBB) offering a new offer of a full refund.

At the same weekend I also get another email from pdasmart.com this
time via the BBB stating they do not want to co-operate in the case and
disagree to my claims.

I dont really know whats going on with this company but the person I am
dealing with appears clearly irrational. I have a strong feeling with all the
different communication from pdasmart they are very unhappy with this
being publicized and are only looking to find ways to get the upper hand
rather than dealing with any issues.

I am also very happy I didnt send them my phone and then await payment
as based on the events I dont think I would have even received payment.

The BBB has now closed this case and passed it over to ADR ?
However in light of all the issues etc, I plan to now make sure this goes
through The Attorney General's office of Consumer Affairs so that pdasmart
can be held accountable for their actions.

Its a very slow corse, but based on what has happened and the chain of
events I dont think I would ever had any sort of refund as pdasmart is
very unhappy for me publicizing this and has accused me of many
false statements. Luckily for me I have kept all communication so I can
clearly show the corse and where the issues lay.

I really hope none of you are stuck in the same issue as me.
But if you are, please get in contact.

It's not boring at all. It's great that you've brought this all to light. I was just going to post asking for a update actually. I hope everything works out for you in the end. Good luck.

Sounds like he wants to 'buy you out', that is, publicly disagree that there was ever anything wrong (so it looks better when people search BBB, assuming just a difficult customer) but privately pay you off so that all the negative stuff is removed, and you'll just leave the BBB case.

Sneaky. You've come this far so don't let them get away with it or someone else could fall foul. When it is resolved, don't delete or remove anything. You've had a bad experience and shared it - that's a legitimate part of life. If he doesn't like that then he shouldn't have lied and mucked you around in the first place.

News Update :

I may have good news,

I was re-contacted via pdasmart.com through the BBB with an offer to
buy the phone back at the cost in which I showed on the front page.

So far (as of friday 9th may) I have accepted the offer, and am now waiting
for an email confirming deal along with payment/ups number/conformation etc.

I will keep you guys updated on the situation, and report back if all goes smoothly.

Cheers

Today, I have received a payment from pdasmart.

They agreed to purchase the broken iphone for the total cost caused by
damages as shown on the first post of this thread.

I have already shipped them back the item today using their own ups
account number and hope that all goes well.

So I would like to thank all those on here who have been monitoring this
thread and voiced their support to me over this situation.
As it really has been truly appreciated.

thanks

Mark

Wow, what a mess. From now on only deal with Apple and not shady third party people. Good luck.. by the way I was just in Stockholm two weeks ago and we hit some of the best weather of the year. Nothing like Stockholm, my favorite Scandanavian city.
