Finally an update from Brydge!View attachment 908806

I hope that means they cracked the code on the trackpad gestures. I’m happy to wait if they’re going to be able to deliver a Magic Keyboard-like experience on that. I’ll very likely keep both... they each have their own strong points and use cases. The question will bear in mind of course what exactly those are...

I just got an email saying mine will ship in the next day or two. I ordered pretty quick though. They mention a patch in the next few weeks, so the delay is probably stuff still in China that needs to be updated. at least the implications are good as they are on it, so to speak.

That’s a good move by Brydge, hopefully they’ll be able to resolve the issues. Interested to hear feedback from forum users once they receive their keyboards.

Does the actually keyboard accept the software update? Or is it sent to something else?? Just curious how they plan to fix the trackpad issues

From the email they are sending out:

"Improved Trackpad Experience

In order to continually improve our products, in the coming weeks we will release a new firmware update that is designed to improve the trackpad experience of the Brydge Pro+.

This will be available in the form of a new iPadOS App. Further details will be provided once the app is available"

My only concern is that there might be hardware differences now, between shipments. This often is an early adopter risk.

From the email I got it doesn’t seem the first shipments will arrive until May. It seems to be a software issue. Am I mistaken?

They are shipping mine in the next day or two. So they will make an app to update it, like the email says. That other post above said May for them, so who knows?. I just hope it can be fixed with software. Again, early adopter woes. If they are making hardware changes to the May shipment, this would not be good for the ones getting them sooner.

It should be interesting now that we have this Apple version. We shall see.

What date did you order yours if you don’t mind me asking?

Right away. One of the first. But what's the point if it won't be up to par for weeks. I wouldn't mind waiting.

I'm in the same boat as you, ordered mine right away in January. If you remember correctly when the product was first announced it was advertised as using Bluetooth 4.1. NOW if you look on their website its advertised as using Bluetooth 5.0. I'm wondering if there's been a silent hardware revision and early pre-orderers are getting an inferior product. I emailed them last night but haven't heard back anything yet. I suggest anyone who ordered the keyboard early on to contact Brydge and ask them if they made any hardware changes. If the early keyboards use Bluetooth 4.1 I'm gonna be very upset

Good catch!

We need to find this out. Lets not jump to any conclusions, but I wouldn't open the box until we get this straightened out.
I'm thinking this would be easy to verify also.

Pretty funny actually, forgetting the money aspect for a minute. Imagine if this is the case?

But it doesn't seem likely. In a normal operation, something like this would warrant a discount. Even a small one, and a choice: Get it now with a discount, or wait for a month and pay full price for BT 5.

Anything besides this approach would not work. People probably are cheap and impatient enough to cover the intitial shipment. Anyways, it shouldn't be our burden.

Also, it in the off chance these guys are a bit dim, they can still fix it with a discount offer and a return (at this point) offer.

But this whole thing, with the bad timing all around, who knows?

I just find it funny now that the initial 500 backers are getting shipping confirmation within 24/48hrs, the website has changed to Bluetooth 5.0 and next shipments are expected mid next month. Sounds like a silent hardware revision was made for the next batch to correct some of the early lag issues. Hopefully I'm wrong and they all ship with Bluetooth 5.0

I just went though something very similar. A company had an initial shipment with a delay. During that delay, they made hardware changes. This resulted in an offer like what I mentioned above. I took that offer myself, as it was a function i didn't need. This is different though, but if you discount them enough they could most likely cover the first batch.

This is the only way to do business if you want to build a loyal base, and avoid very bad press. People can go ballistic for far less.

Well, so much for the 24 to 48 hour shipping pledge. :D
Same here! Got an email early on the 24th saying it would ship out within 24/48 hours. No word yet on that and they still haven't responded to by Bluetooth inquiry. Have you reached out to them at all?

No. If they haven't responded to you, I doubt they will for me. The bad timing of this rollout, and the lack of response doesn't look good. I wonder if you emailed them and requested them not to ship any product with bluetooth less than 5.0, they would even respond. They would have to respond to an RMA request though, if they are legit at all.

Who knows.

Most likely everything is perfect, they shipped and we will get notification, albeit a bit late. Worries unfounded. :) They haven't responded because they are so busy finely tuning an excellent product, the Brydge way.

You should send them a message anyways, strength in numbers! The lack of communication and transparancy is starting to worry me

They probably shipped already. You see that ll the time, but i will email them with that 5.0 inquiry.

Update: Just emailed them. Also, order says unfulfilled, so they haven't shipped. Jeez :D

I also asked them not to ship me anything without 5.0, and i'll wait for the next batch if that's the case. I mean, there was a spec change on the site. It's not unreasonable to want to be clear about this.

I just got tired of waiting and asked for cancelation and and refund three days ago without a response. There lack of communication on my part was bothersome. I never received any messages on changes and now had to wait another month with them holding my money making it difficult to cancel out right, because they are holding my money. Just bad business practices.
