Business Phone, Note 3 or 5S

For a Business phone what's best Note 3 or iPhone 5S. The bigger screen, S pen and the leather back seems more suited.
Anyone using the Note 3 for a business phone, i know the 5S is probably more of a play phone.
Thinking of switching my 5S, have MBPr to sync to a iPad so phone could be separate, will keep the 5S for a personal phone maybe.

I personally prefer the 5s as a work phone. My view is that with a work device it MUST work exactly as it should, which is why I like having a phone that I know the CEO of that company also has in his pocket so if there is an issue I know it will be fixed quickly.

(I'm not saying that the CEO of Samsung doesn't have a note in his pocket but we know that Tim Cook has the newest iPhone)

I couldn't stand typing long emails on my iPhone anymore due to the screen size (I like to see most of what I'm composing while I'm typing) and the, IMO, awful keyboard. Note 3 has zero lag, while the s4 did.. Not sure why you experienced lag.

Depends what business one is in. Is one a software developer? Or works in a fortune 500 company..Or both ..iOS has taken over enterprise duties from Blackberry and this is a fact..Most of the business users i know use an iPhone..My company just started giving us samsung devices for the free wifi calling feature (to only those that need to travel internationally a lot) to save cost, but have not taken back our 5s's.

Note 3 has zero lag, while the s4 did.. Not sure why you experienced lag.

It did have some subtle stuttering - at least in the browsers. Then again, so does the N5. I don't understand why Google can't get its act together with Chrome's performance.

You mean the stock Internet browser? If so I know what you mean.. I didnt like the stock browser.. Was a bit laggy. Use chrome now which I've had no issues with.

This sums it up. If everyone in your company is using an iphone, get an iphone. If you have an issue the support will be there.

Chrome is stock on the N5. Dolphin is pretty snappy but it seems to do this by cheating. I use an iPhone 5s as my personal phone, so you're getting an honest opinion when I say the slight stutter in the web browser isn't even a legit gripe. I think it's just something iOS users will notice but it doesn't really affect the browsing experience.

I miss the swipe to go back and tap top to scroll up much more. And being able to access my bookmarks with one tap rather than going through a menu.

Have both the iPhone 5s and Note 3 and for work I use the Note 3 more. It really comes in handy with S memo and the S pen feature. Before, I had to keep all my straps and charts in a pocketbook but now I use the Note for everything. One thing that's better with the iPhone 5s is radio reception. Sometimes I have to use the 5s as a wifi hotspot for the Note because it'll only get 1x while the iPhone is getting LTE. I'm with Verizon Btw.

The 5s has a much better radio. It's more consistent and doesn't jump around as much. It's also better in call quality, camera and audio sound, though you have an advantage with the Note 3 with data/calls at the same time. Of course this is only an issue with Verizon.

Haha, none that I know of. I would love to root and custom rom my S4 but with Verizon and Sammy locking down the bootloader that's not gonna happen. Owell

I think a lot of OEM's are trying to make their smartphones perform like PC's thinking this is what ultimate productivity for enterprise is (Like running PC like multi windows and what not)..The blackberry did not take over enterprise with this "game plan" and apple certainly has not take blackberry's spot with it either..Corporate employees want email, ability to run apps and overall smooth reliability and consistency in the UI over the years (which may be boring) and regular updates..Thats about it. None of my co-workers want to run an excel sheet and edit a power point presentation at the same time on our note 3's even if we could ...You could make a Note 4 with full office suite 6" inch display, 6 gb ram and 128gb hardisk and ability to run 20 apps at once, and most of the folks i know would still not part ways with their laptop..Nor would companies have it that way!

Exactly..I love both iOS and Android, but iOS in my eyes is more elegant, simpler (yet restrictive) and offers a consistent experience across devices and platforms. My IT guys claim during every android device launch that it is the "iPhone killer" ..I guess iOS can be a bit boring if you have played around with android and enjoyed doing so!

Note 3 purely from the standpoint of being able to use the stylus for note taking/brainstorming and being the perfect size for that. I used to take my iPad with me and type notes and ideas, but being able to write is on a whole other level. And I'll admit, I laughed at the thought of a stylus when the Note first came out.

That said, I don't really use it for any productivity task. It is not comfortable typing out long emails on either device, and it cannot replace my computer in any task I do at work.

Whenever I have played with a Note in store or on my cousins, I have noticed lag in comparison to my iPhone. You may not experience it as I am sure you have fiddled with it to get it right, but its the one complaint I hear the most from Samsung owners so there is an issue there.

If that's right i will stick with my 5S, I travel in rural areas.

Yea, I work out in a lot of rural areas as well and the iPhone by far gets the best reception. Sometimes the Note will surprise me and grab LTE where the iPhone won't but it's very seldom.

Note 3. Bigger screen with the ability to dock the phone with keyboard, S-Pen for online signatures, and bigger battery for longer talk time for clients. My Stepdad who has had cell phones for 25 years and has been in real estate even longer said his Note II is the best phone he ever had. Never has to worry charging it throughout the day. Samsung also has low SAR ratings.

I find iOS is for play and leisure time like gaming, photography, and working out or jogging while listening to music since 5s is so light and thin. It is more for fun.
