Whenever I have played with a Note in store or on my cousins, I have noticed lag in comparison to my iPhone. You may not experience it as I am sure you have fiddled with it to get it right, but its the one complaint I hear the most from Samsung owners so there is an issue there.

My note-3 definitly does have a lag..and things seem to "hang" or misbehave much more then on iPhone5s with the latest ios7 version.

Must be a touchwiz thing. I have a 5s and a nexus 5. My nexus 5 is smoother with less app crashes (or phone restarts).

Samsung tries to do too much, and it takes a few months for all those bugs in touchwiz to get ironed out on a new phone (my experience).

For a Business phone what's best Note 3 or iPhone 5S. The bigger screen, S pen and the leather back seems more suited.
Anyone using the Note 3 for a business phone, i know the 5S is probably more of a play phone.
Thinking of switching my 5S, have MBPr to sync to a iPad so phone could be separate, will keep the 5S for a personal phone maybe.

I carry both with me. I use the 5s as a business phone, iOS just works where sometimes Android lets me down when I need it to do something. But the iphones small screen really sucks for having fun, so I carry around a Note 3 as a "tablet" (mainly because I got sick of carrying around a non-pocketable tablet).

Note 3. Bigger screen with the ability to dock the phone with keyboard, S-Pen for online signatures, and bigger battery for longer talk time for clients. My Stepdad who has had cell phones for 25 years and has been in real estate even longer said his Note II is the best phone he ever had. Never has to worry charging it throughout the day. Samsung also has low SAR ratings.

I find iOS is for play and leisure time like gaming, photography, and working out or jogging while listening to music since 5s is so light and thin. It is more for fun.

Yep, a professional worker on the go, needs a Note series type phone;

- Best in class battery life
- S-Pen so handy for document notes, or take a picture of something work related, and write notes on the photo.
- Very fast, very smooth.
- Big screen easy to see full page e-mails and PDF's.

No offense, but the iPhone is a Fischer Price toy phone, it's a cute little device, but not very useful, besides the typical phone calls, texts, etc...

I could say it isn't but what would be the point? You have a mindset I cannot change.

I lol'd too. I love my Note in meetings, but I'll use my iPhone all day for everything else.

The iPhone can easily be a business phone. My dad doesn't need to sign anything on the go as a business owner/accountant. I just need to be able to reply to emails calls and texts plus look stuff up on the internet as a sales person. The Note line is a niche market that Samsung managed to do very well in.

Well some people need to sign docs on the go and have more robust attachment support in email so he does have a point too

Sure they do..SO much so that enterprise folks lapped the note 3 when it launched..just as they lapped the note 2 and note..5 million of these "perfect-for-enterprise" devices sold in the first month..

BTW Whats the ioS share in enterprise? :)

Enterprise folks have secretaries that can handle that, different needs. Talking moreso small business where the owner has to wear many hats and can't be tied to desk

As an enterprise admin I want my users on ios. It's easier for me.

As a small business owner I want to have the ability to run my business from solely my phone, which right now requires android for me. My clients are less tech savvy and getting them to handle regular attachments is hard enough, much less Dropbox links or whatever is the best workaround right now on ios.

I'm sure small business owners lapped them up too!

Okay? You saying phones like the note don't sell? Nevermind.. Not worth it

Thats not what i said. I gave you the exact sales number for the first month. 5 million worldwide sales for the flagship device for the largest OEM in the world (cell phones) is hardly something that is getting business both big and small going crazy over it. And how much did samsung spend on marketing the note? TV ad space for the note was huge in the last few months of the year and has continued all the way into the winter games.

Well the s4 can do everything necessary for business just like the note, so I don't understand why this is only about the note.

Because the note was brought up as the ideal phone for business...sales don't reflect that at all. The blackberry was the best selling phone in this domain and all evidence points to the iPhone and iOS taking over where blackberry left off.

The note is overkill for most, most business users dont need more than what apple gives in iOS especially enterprise

Which is why I said niche. Not all of us need those capabilities, I am on Android and the Nexus 4 due to personal wants in my phone, I love modding and rooting and Android provides that freedom:D

Note 3 vs 5s for business? I'd be happy with either.

Now if we're talking about work phone in general. I'm in charge of procuring and provisioning mobile phones at work.. and I have tight budget. And the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is the phone I've chosen to deploy. For the money it's good, borderline great.

I can't afford to hand out iPhones, only if a staff members manager approves it especially and the finance team then gives the OK, or the iPhone would be my choice.

Now now, if Windows Phone 8 could integrate with an Active Directory environment by the means of you connect the device to network and have the ability to log/sign in with an AD domain account on the phone. And then the Outlook app on the phone syncs with exchange. I'd be all over that.

Well it depends upon what's your business purpose.
I use iPhone 5S with exchange server and it works very well.
I usually read email and often reply.
I don't want to carry large display devices... iPhone 5S is perfect for me.
...

Jot down your needs and then play with few top line devices at their showrooms.
and then decide which has more tick...
this will help resolve your query....

hope this helps.

The 5S is smoother but there is nothing wrong with the Note 3. It's fast, responsive and doesn't lag. It's hard to say which one would be better as you don't specify what particular tasks you want to do with it.

Either would be a good buy, the 5S is probably more compatible in terms of apps and I'd imagine that more of your colleagues will have iPhones.

I am sorry to complain, but my GN3 does lag on many occasions and my 5s is simply smoother by quite a bit...I would love to root my phone and run it stock but i do not have an option of doing that..

I'm waiting for windows mobile to make their move on enterprise. I'm honestly surprised they haven't already tried to force/leverage unique features with respect to exchange and AD. We have one windows phoner here at work :) everyone else on iOS and myself on android.

My biggest reason jumping from iPhone to Note 3 was file management system and email attachments.

If there is a way to reply to an email thread and attach two separate files (not pictures) on the iPhone, please let me know. I couldn't do it and had to send multiple emails to customers with data sheets, etc. and was very cumbersome.

The Note3 or any android phone lets you download the attachments and email as many as I choose to.

Multitasking on the Note 3 is also great for sales people / business guys. Plenty of times I have pulled up my emails and a data sheet at the same time to email some numbers or segments of a data sheet.. was just very handy.

iPhone wins in the GPS regards for me as well as BT capabilities.. but overall I am enjoying the Note 3.

Errr, they've sold tens of millions of these phones - I'd hardly call that a "niche market"

And here we go again, minimising the success of Samsung. You can't help yourself.
