You can already get the S7 very cheap on the second hand market. You Van always wait. You can also wait dir the Series 9 which will be even better. At the moment you are getting the latest tech its outdated. I also just got a new IP 13 pro max with 350€ discount. Just get what you want and dont wait. I didnt want to wait for 3 or more months.

I would usually say wait, but the Prime Day sale got me a 41mm for $279. I like to have a couple of watches on hand. So I was a bit weak. I didn't see getting a new watch much cheaper than that price.

Hi everyone,

I had resisted buying an Apple Watch for years (thought they were a gimmick, use a Garmin for running and a mechanical watch during the day) but I recently tried a friend's Series 7 and was amazed at the haptics and the useful extension of my favorite apps from my phone.

I want to buy one but wondering what this community thinks about waiting for the Series 8 or just grabbing a Series 7 now. Just looking for opinions! Thank you :)

If I were you, I'd wait until September - it's only two months away. The added benefit of waiting is that you can buy the outgoing model for a lower price when the shiny new model comes out. If you've only ever had a traditional watch, even an S7 will be quite an upgrade.

I'm still on the S5 black stainless steel. I only bought it last year after it was heavily discounted. I use mine just for the gym - I have music and my workout schedule in OneNote on it. Now, I can leave my phone in my car or locker and I don't have to worry about losing it. I also want to start using it for contactless payments and public transportation.

Great device.

I know a lot of people, especially enthusiasts on forums like this, are stuck in the “later is greater” mentality , especially with an Apple device that receives a yearly refresh. But advice to an Apple watch newbie - it is a watch first and foremost. The yearly upgrades have added some new sensors and they sure keep getting bigger and bigger. But the apps and actual functionality of the watch will be exactly the same (and don’t expect too much out of apps, there’s very very little innovation happening there, because remember…it’s a watch)

Anything at or above Series 4 is absolutely the exact same experience , and honestly series 3 does just fine too … even though it takes half an hour to power on. Buying brand new top of the line? Very very expensive…
If you absolutely must have always -on display you have to go with Series 5, 6, or 7. My first watch was a 5 because I absolutely NEEDED that always on display and would not buy an Apple Watch without one. But after about a year I realized I can take or leave it. So I guess if you need to buy brand new and you want aluminum I’d recommend an SE. My two cents if I were buying my first watch. Whatever you choose , congrats and enjoy!

2 Months and an other month waiting for stock. Waiting for the series 9 would also be good because of a newer chipset and maybe better battery life. My wife still got her series 4 and its still working fine
