Apple doesn't release new hardware at the time of a new OS release. Any new hardware released after Snow Loepard will only work with Snow Leopard. Buy now and pay $10 for the upgrade and you will have a choice in case there is a problem with 10.6.0 that forces you to stay with Leopard.

Put the Leopard disk in the Mac

Which Leopard disk? The one that *didn't* come with the OP's shiny new Mac that they've bought after Snow Leopard is shipping? Which build and version should they use then? A retail Leopard DVD? Oops, that won't work, will it?

Come on Dawg, I expected more of you.

Pointless... you are just forced to defend your original statement that was inaccurate and misleading

You selectively quoted me removing a key sentence thus taking it out of context, then based your argument on that and then tried to tell me to re-read my post? Has someone hacked your account or something? ;) Honestly

Actually, I bought an iMac about a month after Leopard came out. It came w/ tiger installation discs and just a Leopard CPU drop-in disc.

The Leopard CPU drop-in disc allows you to upgrade your Tiger installation. However, they do that to save time as it allows the backstock to be used up without the workers installing the new software.

So OP, if you can wait for Snow Leopard, I would wait and save the $10 and spend it on something better (like the 3.0 iPod software udpate =P) or food.
