Apple can't remote lock laptops even if it's stolen so even if the guy stole it nothing will happen to it.

Those saying stolen, I have bought plenty of iPhones not that old or sealed new for way cheaper and never had 1 issue, my wife has a 12 max from mid last I got for $500AUD off brand new, my AW7 I got early this year was only a month old.

The thing I dont understand is, even without a receipt they should be able to basically return it themselves if it's only 2 weeks? oh wait I think I just answered my own question, because then the credit would just go back to the person who bought it for them.

I'd buy a refurb from apple but I'm paranoid AF.
This. They can just return it. That they're selling it for 50% off is a HUGE red flag. This is a huge NO from me.

After asking about if they have the box to go with it, was told it got damaged in the rain moving house, so def a red flag that one. Got out of it by saying could only come up with $1200AUD instead of $1500 offered. Retail is $3K.
Listing price has dropped from $2400 to $1900.
Will give it a miss I think.
