What freezing issues are you speaking of? I had the new 2009 mac mini since day 1 and have had 0 issues in freezing
Plenty of people have reported issues with their Mac mini beachballing for no apparent reason, even when virtually new. I've seen it myself on my father-in-law's 2007 model. Maybe it's no longer a problem with the 2009 minis, but it certainly happens with some older ones, so perhaps SL will fix it for them.

My parents have never complained about beachballing and I've never witnessed it on their 2007 mini. They do have 2GB RAM in there

Like I said, it happens on *some* older machines, not all of them. It's possible that those that have the standard minimum RAM are more prone to it, though.

If I were you, buy your Mini now and just stick with Leopard.

Snow Leopard only brings a few tweaks, and a special UI that we don't know anything about called Marble.

SL is a complete rewrite with completely new technologies like Grand Central and OpenCL.

Only someone completely out of touch with software technology would comment that these things qualify as "minor tweaks".

Having said that I agree that there's no reason to wait.
