When searching for events in Calendar v11.0 (2811.3.1), it only searches in Today - this indicated by the wrod "Today" appearing in red under the search box. It didn't do this before (but before when I am unsure) and I don't recall, at least knowingly, changing any setting anywhere.

I would have expected the search for Parking to have picked up this event.

Can anyone help me to restore the universal search function?

Thanks in advance.View attachment 1714574
I found a solution! After weeks of researching, resetting the Calendar app, changing user accounts, going to safe mode. Nothing worked. The only solution I haven't tried was reinstalling the whole Monterey system, cuz I thought it would be a hassle and I would have to backup and then reinstall all the apps. It doesnt! You can easily reinstall the system and the Calendar app search works like a charm!
If you have Apple M1 silicon chip mac:
1. Shut down your mac.
2. Hold down the power button/touch ID until the startup options icon appears
3. Now select Options, and click Continue
4. When a window appears with options like restore from time machine etc, choose Reinstall MAC OS Monterey.
5. Follow instructions.
BAM! Calendar search works like a charm.
3. Press and hold power button/touch ID button

Okay,
I'm on a 12.1 and have this problem.
Once again, only re-installing the whole OS fixes this?
Apple should pay users something, when using their product takes hours and hours of maintenace...

EDIT:
Oh well, I did bit my lip and calmly installed the whole OS again.
My work delayed by 2+2 hours (2 hours for searching and asking for help, 2 hours for reinstall), but Apple survived this without any support costs.

That worked for me. Have you tried that? Simpler than reinstalling the OS...

I have done every suggestion in this thread and Calendar search still doesn't work on my Mac. It only works on my iOS devices.

I had exactly this problem. Solution for me was to:
  1. Delete all 'cache' files in Library>Calendars and
  2. Delete 'com.apple.iCal.plist' from Library>Preferences
(Good idea to drag them to the desktop in case of unexpected consequences - delete later when you're sure all is OK)

None of my calendars would then show (except birthdays and holidays) so I switched calendars off and then on again in System preferences>Internet Accounts>iCloud and all accounts quickly syncronised and everything returend to normal.
This is the ONLY thing that worked for me! Thank you Manofdogs!

  1. Delete all 'cache' files in Library>Calendars and [...]
All? Which are? I have 42 items in that dir.
One is "Calendar Cache", few more cache'ish by the name and other, maybe?
(Monterey)

I moved only that 1 file away.
Now, when I start Calendar, it does not start.
Next try it starts, but no window. When I open the window, Cal crashes in a few seconds.

Mine actually works fully now. I assume it was fixed in an OS update somewhere along the way. I'm running OS 13.1.

Updating to 12.6.2 broke mine again.

But using @Manofdogs' instructions and moving ALL away from ~/Lib/Cal's dir, it started working again.
Lots of setting of settings of course, thanks for Apple for that...

I tried now.
After "upgrading" to 12.6.3.
Does not help.

Had to delete ALL from ~/Lib/Cal's folder.
Before that I tried re-install the whole Monterey.
Good job Apple.
