Sorry to jump into this conversation but I have received my new Benq SW240 and I am facing the same kind of issues running the Palette Master Element.
I am trying to calibrate a Benq SW240 monitor connected to my Mac Pro 2013 using the Palette Master Element software and I get an Error " Conflict with other software"
My setting is:
- Mac Pro 2013 with Mojave v10.14.2
- Palette Master Element v1.3.1
- Spyder4 connected to the monitor with USB
- Monitor connected to Mac with 2 cables DisplayPort and USB
I erase the Super software in the Mac. Anyone know what is wrong ? What I need to do more?

I tried several times and either the calibration or the validation processes do not work. They give error.

thanks

PME is BS at this point. I got a call from BenQ and they told me NOT to use 1.3.1 version. They officially confirmed that 1.3.1 version is causing software issue which might gonna break both hardware and software.

Really???
I am still waiting for Benq reply. Have they suggested to use the previous version or they assumed that their marketing claim is false? I just bought this monitor because Benq claims to have hardware calibration.

Definitely strange. I’m using the latest PME software on my Mac mini with no issues. I have SW271, but that shouldn’t make a difference. Let me try an SW240 and see if there is an issue. Might be tomorrow.

Appreciate your help. The message I got is " Conflict with other software".
A few more info on my set up.
-To delete the Spyder Software from the mac I just sent to trash and than clean the trash.
- To connect the mac to the monitor I use the DisplayPort and to ensure the PME connection I add the USB cable. So I have the two cables connected at same time.
Any possible mistake here?
Many thanks for your help. The conversation with Benq is not being too much effective, but they are still trying to help.

So I don’t have a Spider, but it should work more or less the same. Just downloaded the latest version and it’s working fine at the moment on High Sierra. I’ll run it on the latest OS in a bit.

Check to see if there are any other datacolor software left. System tray or something?

Yes that is the error I get. I am starting to wonder if the Spyder device itself has a problem. Any suggestion to check it ?
Once more thanks for your help....
I dropped a line to BenQ so hopefully I’ll have an answer for you soon.
To test the Spyder, reinstall the datacolor software and run a calibration using that (not PME).
Does it work?

Okay this error was my fault as I hadn’t seen Colormunki tray was running!
You should be able to check in the programs that launch at start up. Remove any Datacolor and Spider programs and restart your machine. Should be good to go after that.

You mentioned that you are using Sierra... I am already in Mojave 10.14.2.... Could be that PME is not compatible with the most IOS version?

Nope. I’ve used it on both HS and Mojave. I’m sure there is something running in the background. That’s why I got the exact same error. I’m not familiar with the datacolor software but it probably runs in the background so it can remind you your calibration is due (that’s what the X-Rite software does).

Thanks,
Very strange indeed. I have been one hour with apple support over the phone checking my Mac. We clean everything and we run several tests to confirm that everything is ok. We look to Activity Monitor and there was nothing strange. In parallel I ask Datacolor for instructions and I followed all the steps.

So.... I am completly lost
Thanks for your help

Very strange indeed! I know PME 1.14.1 is about to be released.

You know what ? your guess was absolutely right. I received a new Spyder5 and when try to open PME it asked to be updated.
New version was installed and it worked with both Spyder 4 and Spyder5. So the unique problem was the PME itself which Benq solved now. What is amazing is that I was talking with them for a few days and several e-mails and even now they do not recognised that PME had a bug.

Thanks for your help. Problem solved. I am now testing the calibration. Not impressed with first try specially when compared with mas retina monitor.

cheers
