Is it possible to play COD4 on a new Macbook 2.2?
I'm so glad I found this thread. Has anyone tried Cod4 with the old video card? I have the 1600xt. Would love to know if its playable before I go and install windows etc.
I play COD4 on 1680x1050 with 2xAA medium settings flawlessly on a MBP 2.2. I clocked the GPU to 475/700 (previously clocked to 350/600 which didn't work at all!!) via. AtiTOOL.
It's bliss. However I do get a weird problem in both COD2 and COD4. Whenever I turn horizontally the movements stutter (not lag). I use an MX1000 mouse and it's ONLY in COD this happens. It also stutters when using the trackpad to move.
Bioshock is no problem though. It's mostly noticeable when moving forward, strafing and turning at the same time. I don't really know what's wrong since it's less of a problem on lower resolutions.
And 800x600? Ew... It looks horrible when scaled on an LCD.
Vista blows. I run games on XP fine, its more stable, takes up less HD space on my partitioned drive than Vista.
All the games so far that I run on XP are small though I am getting COD4 and NFS Carbon, and C&C3 for windows shortly. Possibly Civilization 4 for Windows too. Oh and Ill be runnign Battlefield 2142 and Assassins Creed and the new Unreal Tournament on XP.
How do I make AtiTool work? I installed it on Vista and everytime I run the program, I get a driver type error and cannot overclock the GPU. Is this a XP-specific program?I play COD4 on 1680x1050 with 2xAA medium settings flawlessly on a MBP 2.2. I clocked the GPU to 475/700 (previously clocked to 350/600 which didn't work at all!!) via. When I run this on my MBP 2.2, it looks great but sometimes it looks like "garbage" is flying through the air when running (say within Baghdad or a city scene). Is this because of my settings?
Also, what settings does everyone run on their 2.2?
I can't say much about the settings, but the garbage in the air is normal I believe because I see it on my pc as well. Its probably there to accentuate the warzone/deserted feeling of the city.
