Somerset Mall in Troy Michigan about an hour outside of Detroit. Got there at 1pm. There was about 100 people in front of me. By 5 there was probably 600-700 people in line.

There were about 100 people in line at Best Buy in Savannah, GA. I was able to get in line around 4:45pm and had a iPad by 6:00pm, no strings attach. They said they had over 300 total. Everyone in line got a ticket while I was there.

I walked by the main Apple store in NYC on 5th Ave about an hour ago. Lines snaked around the store plaza around "the cube" and then the line continued all the way down towards Madison and perhaps further...
Lots of people coming out with the new iPad in Apple drawstring bags. If anyone reads this that shopped there tonight please let me know if they have tons around to sell and if they expect more shipments over the weekend. Thanks!

I was at the 67th and broadway. I got there 445 walked out before 7. There was still a decent size line and they were still handing out vouchers. They were out of most 3G models but still had a lot of wifi. No idea when they might get more stock.
I was third in line at the Apple Store at the Gateway in Salt Lake City, Utah. I got there are 7:00 PM on Thursday and about 15 people were there by midnight. The last count taken was one hour prior to launch and there was 870 people.
I thought I had the ultimate idea. I decided to drive down to delaware (no sales tax), and go to target and use my discount card to get 10% off. Well target only had a few units and they were Wifi Only. I ran past the Apple store and the line seemed pretty short, so I tried to get in only the security team turned me away and pointed me to the actual end of the line, which was outside the mall wrapping around several buildings. I ran over to Best Buy in delaware, stood in the freezing cold until they started handing out tickets, and they quickly ran out of tickets for everyone (there were at least 100 people waiting in line). Tired and frustrated I headed home back to Jersey, and about 45 minutes later I was about to stop and get some groceries and noticed the Deptford, NJ Best Buy. I walked in there and there was a huge line that wrapped around several aisles but they still had plenty of tickets left. I was able to get exactly the model I wanted. I still had to wait another hour to pay for it, but finally I have my iPad 2. Whew!
I have 2 Targets within a few miles of each other. One never got their shipment so I went to the other one at 4:58 and I was 3rd in line. They had 5 32GB Black WiFi iPads. So for all I know they still have 2 left. Vista, CA Target
I was probably around #200 in line. I got in to the store about 40 minutes after 5pm. They were sold out of all white AT&T 3G models before I got in the store.
When I got in, they were sold out of the black 64GB AT&T 3G models (only 16GB or 32GB left). I bought the 64GB black Verizon one.
As I was leaving the mall, they announced to the line that ALL the AT&T models were sold out. I thought there was going to be a riot!

Found it interesting that the AT&T iPads sold out 1st. With all the complaints about AT&T's service, I would think Verizon iPads would have gone 1st.

Going by the shipping dates on Apple On-Line, my guess is 2 weeks the earliest.
not a bad experience at all....got to montgomery mall at 3:51 and there had to be about 200+ in front of me. They started handing out tickets. Five o'clock came around and The first to go was the white 16gb 3g att, then all the att 3g sold out. By the time they got to me it like 5:30 and the line had to be about 500, they announced all the had where black 16gb, black32gb. Got 2 32gb tickets.... while waiting chic fila gave us nuggets, drinks and coupons for free chicken sandwich. The came around 2 Times..tight....around 6 went in and copped an Ipad. End up selling my extra ticket and made MONEY.
