I grabbed the wife's phone and called myself a few times to practice, i have it now.

I panicked on the first call and actually turned the phone off to end the call lol

I had a similar first experience too! They've since made it easier to use. Now you can just tap the banner anywhere to answer, left swipe to decline, and also tap the banner during call to access dial pad, speaker, etc.

I love the feature that allows all outbound calls to use CallBar too! Now whenever I look up a number in safari and tap to dial from a website, or someone texts/emails me a number, I just tap it to place the call but I stay in whatever app I was using. It's GREAT for me when I call someone from a work email but can continue to read the email as the phone rings as opposed to having to minimize the phone app and go back to the email app. Sure that's a silly annoyance to have, but once I got used to CallBar's integration into my iPhone I can never go back to using the stock app. Such a great tweak in my opinion. People always say BiteSMS is THE reason to jailbreak, but I always put CallBar right up there in the "reasons I jailbreak" discussion.

Callbar was the worst purchase I ever made. Every few weeks I try and use it, and every time I think to myself "why do i bother with this junk when the Phone app works perfectly."

Sorry but Call Bar is way better than stock phone method. Once you get the hang of it - you can't go back.

It truly beauty is seen when you are doing something on your device (ie browsing Safari, playing a game, streaming a movie, etc) and you are not taken away from your active screen when receiving an incoming phone call.

Agree 100% can't do without CallBar.

Samd question - what problems is the aplication giving you? Just out of curiousity?

Is it not useful to have instant call or answer abilities on nearly any screen? Or is it foguring out how the ui handles?

Because you couldn't remember how to use it, it was your worst purchase. Make sense.

Way to stick words in my mouth. I can use Callbar just fine - it's not complicated in any way. I perfectly understand how to answer calls, dismiss calls, and all that jazz.

It serves no purpose. I certainly can't play a game when i'm talking on the phone, weather using callbar or the normal phone app. Unless you use speakerphone, but I enjoy quality sound, which means never using speakerphone.

Not to mention its contacts list doesn't integrate with Cyntact. That was a big deal breaker too.

Your words were, "Every few weeks I try and use it...", the key word for me was 'try'.

Now you're just arguing semantics. The only thing in my post that hinted at being unable to use it would be "try" which doesn't only mean using it and not knowing how, but also means using something to see if you like it (i.e. i'm going to try this chicken habanera). Doesn't mean chicken habanera confuses me...it means eating it to see if you like it.

Sorry I don't think HE was arguing semantics. BUT I know You are hehe. I use that same starting statement for many debates I've been in over the years. He was only telling you why he made an assumption.. In any case assumptions should not be made. A proper way to say what you're saying is not elaborated in either post, proper would be "I'm going to try EATING this chicken habanera." Addition of the verb EATING, completing the sentence. Or "every time I USE CallBar..." Notice the deletion of TRY TO, in that case. Try is a loose word and to be fair, if you expect clear communication and no MISUNDERSTANDINGS take that for consideration

Of course you cannot talk on the phone up to ear whilst playing games or other tasks... That's kind of obvious...

but there other ways in which I answer the phone besides up to ear or speaker phone like you did state.. and that's with my ear buds! Others may even use a BT device of sorts also. Something to consider.

For me having the convienience of CallBar far supersedes the want for cyntact. Just for me. Was that really the deal breaker? Idk I LOVE quick compose and quick call, and think its quite silly the stock iOS programmers don't love it also. To me it's a function so fluid with the interface that if it came stock, I don't think anyone would complain or have real grounds to justify not liking it. Have you contacted cyntact developers to see if they would provide a compatibility patch? I'm certain you wouldn't be alone! Probably cool to have cyntact and CallBar !

As Eclipse538 said, I was explaining why I wrote what I did. Accept or reject it. I don't care either way.

Now that's a completely valid reason to not use CallBar. For me, I barely ever answer my phone haha. So whether in playing a game, installing a tweak from Cydia, or surfing the Internet via safari or an app, I absolutely hate getting kicked out of whatever I'm doing just so I can most likely ignore a call. So for me it's must have. Plus when I like to make a call, I like to be able to do it from anywhere: fast and easy.

It makes sense though why you don't use it. That's the beauty of jail breaking, what makes sense for you doesn't make sense for the next person. I love it!

Anyone else accidentally muting a call or putting it on hold with callbar? Seems to be happening to me a lot and I'm not sure why.

That's the gospel! Speak it my friend !

I do not get that many calls so i have not had that issue. It did take me a few times (calling myself with my wife’s phone) to get the hang of using the call bar.

I’m going to have to practice again tonight, i received a call today while the phone was sleeping and i found no way to answer from the lock screen and the screen was kind of wonky and the slide to unlock was gone.

Actually just noticed another issue with callbar. I don't want or need callbar on my lockscreen but I noticed that if I silence an incoming call by pressing one of the volume buttons, I lose the ability to answer the call. Anyone else?

Haha!

On a side note, I don't have any bugs or issues with CallBar whatsoever. For those having issues what do you have installed? If you're having lockscreen problems, maybe you have a lockscreen tweak that is interfering.

After you answer the phone, if you accidentally expose that little drop down bar where all those buttons exist, just slide up on the top main CallBar banner and it'll all slide up into the status bar, that way you won't accidentally tap those buttons while on a call.

Was it sideways? I have that issue on my phone. If I was in an app in landscape mode, and I shut off my screen, the LS thinks its in landscape mode as well, and the answer button ends up off the screen if I get a call, effectively impossible to answer the call.

Edit: here's a screenshot.

This was an issue for me with sbrotator, do you have that installed?

Then either it is a flaw with CallBar or Springtomize 2 is messing it up, since it is the only other tweak we share.

To replicate the issue, open Safari, go to any random page, rotate your phone so it's landscape, push the sleep/power button so your screen shuts off, and then call your phone. It will be messed up every time.

Nope, I've got:
Auxo
Callbar
iFile
Infinifolders
Springtomize 2
SwipeSelection
VLC
Zephyr

I had the same problem issue you posted above once, and I have both Auxo and ifile in common with you. Can't imagine that ifile is the problem though.

Do you have Activator?

I don't see how the lock screen could be rotating if you didn't have an app that can do that in the first place? I only had bugs on my lock screen when SBrotator conflicted with lock screen tweaks/apps. I don't know much though :p
