I set mine to always and now, each time the phone rings, I hear the name from the phone. I don't hear it t over the car Bluetooth.

Does the Announce Calls feature work for anyone using the GM?
This feature does not appear to be working for me either, unless the ring/silent switch is on 'vibrate'. I've only tried thus far with the apple earbuds, with the setting on 'headphones'. It does work with the other two settings, but does not work when headphones are physically plugged in. Reported this as a bug. Will try BT headphones later and report back. Glad I'm not the only one...thought I was loosing my mind for a minute!

I just tested it and it works on my iPhone 6S Plus on AT&T.
What setting did you have it on? Was the phone in silent/vibrate mode or just regular ringer mode? Did the announcement work trough headphones/Bluetooth/phone itself (or a some combination of those)?

It's working with Bluetooth headphones and wired headphones, but only if the ringer is set to vibrate/silent. Also when testing this with BT headphones just now, I noticed the ringer was going off on both the phone, and through the BT headphones. I don't remember this happening previously. Could be wrong though. Either way, with the 'headphones only' setting, this appears to only be working with the ringer switch set to off.

I tested it with Always and Headphones Only. It also works in the house on the Headphones & Car setting, but I have not tested it in my car (yet).

Glad people are loving this new feature, I think it's going to be very useful.

If they can just take it further now and add in the answer / divert / ignore voice options I mentioned previously, it'll be perfect.

I know people can do this though their headphones, but voice responses would save you even having to take your hands out of your pockets - bonus in winter.

Also it needs to work irrespective of whether the phone is silent or not.

This feature sounds super useful. My ski helmet has bluetooth, and I usually keep it on even if I am not listening to music, for phone calls with friends also on the mountain. It would be nice to know whether it is a friend on the mountain calling, in which case I will stop and answer; or my boss calling, in which case I will proceed to ski and let it go to voicemail. :D

Does it override the ringtone? Do you the ringtone and the name or just the name being said?
The ringtone starts and a second or so into it it quiets down and Siri says the name of the contact calling and then the ringtone comes back and just keeps on playing as usual.

The custom ringtone I'm using must be a little too loud. I can hardly hear the announce of the name. Pity there's no way of altering the volume that I can see.

That sounds like a great life - good on you!

I have my ringtone set to a text tone so a incoming phone call is a <ding> followed by Siri announcing who is calling. Is there anyway to make her repeat the caller's name more than once or is that all we have to work with?

Doesn't seem like there is as that single announcement seems to be the current implementation of it.

We'll, boo, it would have been cool for it to ding, announce caller and then repeat until it goes to voicemail.

Agreed. Would be cool if they also supported it when the device wasn't on silent/vibrate mode (when the "headphones" option is used). Certainly seems like there are a number of fairly simple/straightforward improvements or at least options that Apple could make. Hopefully they will make them, but it's hard to say if that will be the case given how some similar features, like DND, haven't really had various fairly straightforward improvements implemented even after all these years.

Still loving this feature - have it implemented by default.

Like you, I wish they'd make a change to announce the name at least twice though in case you miss it the first time.

I Think it's a great feature as well. When I'm distracted with the crazy drivers around me it's always nice to be able to hear who's calling before hitting the answer button.

I enabled it on my mothers phone and she was ecstatic about it :D

Well I can't get this to work on "Headphones Only" unless it's in silent mode, which defeats its purpose for me.

I need to be able to audibly hear ALL alerts in my headphones: phone, text, email. In Silent Mode you only get phone in "Headphones Only" mode.

Is this how it's supposed to work? Or is it a bug?

It's how it works. Hard to say if that's by design or a bug. If you want for it to work even when it's not silent then you would need to set it to "Always" basically. It also only works for calls and only announces once at the beginning when the call comes in.
